Thanks - that's the one I ordered. Will post again after arrival and use. Thanks, Mr. Lurk!

What's the latest on the new range?

I thought you might have been more old school, but this sharpener is great.

I do have a stone, just depends on the need and time involved.

We have been walking around it for some time. Scheduled to be installed late in the day on Wednesday. I think I might have gotten it installed on Friday as I got a call from them whilst driving and they said that if a spot opened up they would call me, but I don't talk on the phone when I am driving. I am a good driver, but distracted driving is not a good thing no matter how good you are.

When you want things REALLY sharp there is nothing better than a series of stones. I want my kitchen knives sharp, but I want my wood working chisels super sharp.

    Agree Lurk—

My sharpest knife is always my hunting knife that I use to cape a buck out for mounting

Got an update on my eBay purchase - the sharpener should be here this week.

Meanwhile from Amazon I got one of those clam shell microwave egg poachers. Two eggs. $7.31 + sales tax delivered. I just tried it out and it worked great!

Beautiful day out here......nice and cool. Still left leg pain from the sciatica I got last week so not able to do a lot but hopefully this will subside soon. I have a lot I want to get done outdoors before we get back into the heat and humidity.

Tonight we’re going to be doing breakfast for supper—We are having fried cubed steak, grits, eggs over easy, and homemade buttermilk biscuits.

Ms. Jan’s homemade strawberry freezer jam will also be on the table.

The back porch is open and ready for your use to relax-adult libations are available as requested.

Tonight is skirt steak, green beans, corn and pesto. Outside skirt steak was on sale so using that instead of inside skirt steak which is what folks normally think of when they think of skirt steak. Outside skirt steak is WAY better.

Tonight I’ll be grilling bone-in country cut ribs indirect over cherry wood smoke-yep, Pat’s Homade on the last two turns. Also I’ll be adding some Conecuh Cajun Smoked Sausage to the grill before I’m done.

Inside we’ve got a pot of fresh green beans and new potatoes and cob white sweet corn.

The back porch Yeti is restocked with ice cold longnecks and the chilled wine is ready for Ms. Jan.

I was born and raised in the SF Bay Area, so I have heard of it. I think my father ordered it for brunch once. I may have eaten it, but it would have been a very long time ago.

Hangtown (now Placerville) was the heart of the gold country. If a miner struck it rich he would go to SF. Oysters were rare and expensive (not found on the Pacific coast), so Hangtown Fry was a way to show off their newfound wealth.

Tonight I’ll be grilling hamburger steaks from a freshly ground boneless chuck roast.

Inside we will have the leftover green beans and new potatoes from last night and a pot of fresh yellow squash and onions.

The back porch is open and ready to take on the afternoon and evening-adult beverages are available as desired.

More rain today - very light - almost drizzle, actually. Gonna get chilly come Saturday night! :emoji_snowflake:

Sea Pac Coconut Shrimp today....using my toaster oven to cook it...yum!

Will be cooking my cabbage later on. Today watched on TV a cooking show with Scandinavians putting a cabbage wedge right directly on the fire!
