I believe that their teams play each other tonight in a televised game.

Correction. It looks like the game is not televised. The Warriors game is televised, however, so Chiozza should be on the telly.

Tre entered the game at 3:09 of the 1st quarter. And promptly committed a turnover.

Went 1 for 7 with 2 assists, 3 turnovers in 20 minutes. Has the third most minutes on the team and the worst +/- at -15. I don't see him stealing too many minutes from SGA anytime soon.

NBA is a grown man's league. Needs a little more time.

Mann looks good. He’s ready right now. Lewis has had some flashes, but his mentality is still too passive. I think Lewis is more of a natural point guard that was pre-determined to be a shooting guard due to his physical attributes. If he tightens up his dribble just a little bit, and works on his high-level passes, I think he might surprise himself.

He was a terrible ballhandler and a lazy passer at UF. Not exactly a good recipe for an NBA point guard.

The Hornets started him at point guard once in summer league and he looked really good at the position. More natural than he does at shooting guard. His ball handling was nice except for a few mental lapses, but mechanically it was sound. He made some very nice high-level passes as well. Trust me, he looked good at point, and I am not one to blow smoke about a player's abilities.

I’m with you Murph, I’m pretty sure that’s the game when he had his best, 16 pt outing too. Kinda had that Westbrook feel to his game.

That’s surprising to me. His ball handling and security worried me at UF, and generally the former skill seems to be more innate than learned.

I get why you would be surprised. I was too, until I thought about it. I’m a natural point guard, but when I’m asked to play shooting guard, I use my skills in a different way. I sometimes have to remind myself mentally to try to score aggressively. I can imagine it’s the same for Scottie. He’s a natural point who has always been forced to play shooting guard or wing. So, when he gets in the game, he’s not thinking about using his point guard skills, he’s thinking in scorer’s perspective. Since he wasn’t the most confident scorer, it made him look shaky overall.

W!hen I had the athletic skills, quickness and jumping ability of Scottie Lewis, it didn't matter what position I played. I scored, I defended, I got assists, I got rebounds, i dominated. Oh, wait, I never had those abilities but I had some great dreams.

Yeah... tell me about it. I wonder how it feels to be an athletic 6'6" as opposed to my 5'10" height.

People are surprised that I still ball in Men's leagues. Honestly, my games are the highlight of my week. I just love playing the game, man. While I'm still faster than the average 20 year old in my low 40's, I found that I don't need to use athleticism to blow by people as much as I used to. Just subtle nuances and skill create the same space. There is no money, no crowds (even my wife doesn't watch me play :D), but I'm still living the dream in a way.

    But I digress...

The last time I played a pick-up game it showed me very quickly just how fast you can lose the edge you had as a teenager. All the while I had been thinking I was just a little out of shape.

For me, it's the recovery that's the biggest difference. My body feels like I ran a marathon the day after a 40 minute (2 x 20 minute halves) game. Back in the day, I could play for 3 hours straight and not feel one body ache or stiff joint.

Unfortunately my lungs are practically shot due to a disease I contracted about 25 years ago so any thought of running is out of the question now. Just walking usually requires oxygen if I walk any distance at all.

No, it's Mycobacterium Avium Complex, or usually just referred to as MAC.

It has the symptoms of TB but is not contagious between humans which was a big relief when they first figured out what I had. I had been around my family, which included my youngest granddaughter who was very young at the time, and I was really worried until they identified it which was hard to do at first. Manifests like TB and since it is not real common there was a bit of time before they could come up with a diagnosis. This came about after they contacted Shands at UF and fortunately for me they had someone on staff that had worked with it for a long time. That was approximately 25 years ago.

Two years on a combination of three antibiotics and then remission for a few years. It has came back two more times and each time it destroys more of the lungs. Unfortunately the lungs cannot rejuvenate but they can clear up so to speak.
