I think you ask some good questions, but I would like to see some additional data points on this note and further inquire if this number varies by not only region, but also by risk factors going into it.

I found this article indicating 6% - 10% (link), but that is a significantly different message than our pediatrician is issuing. In the end, trust your own doctor, but people have to realize that there are competing medical views on these points. I would also add that if your doctor does not have a good understanding on the likely impact to your kids (like the doctor in the article), look into other doctors that may have a better handle on assessment and treatment. This is *not* the message that all doctors are giving on the impact on kids.

Well, that's a shocker! And from the noted right wing Q rag the Atlantic no less. :p:rolleyes:

    https://www.theatlantic.com/health/...italization-numbers-can-be-misleading/620062/

The study found that from March 2020 through early January 2021—before vaccination was widespread, and before the Delta variant had arrived—the proportion of patients with mild or asymptomatic disease was 36 percent. From mid-January through the end of June 2021, however, that number rose to 48 percent. In other words, the study suggests that roughly half of all the hospitalized patients showing up on COVID-data dashboards in 2021 may have been admitted for another reason entirely, or had only a mild presentation of disease.

For two separate studies published in May, doctors in California read through several hundred charts of pediatric patients, one by one, to figure out why, exactly, each COVID-positive child had been admitted to the hospital. Did they need treatment for COVID, or was there some other reason for admission, like cancer treatment or a psychiatric episode, and the COVID diagnosis was merely incidental? According to the researchers, 40 to 45 percent of the hospitalizations that they examined were for patients in the latter group.

Even though the article is based on date pre-Delta, it makes a great case for being vaccinated.

I don't know you but I do care about you. What you are consuming and propagating is neither truthful or healthy for you. I hope you reassess your source of news and find a better path than to insult, belittle, and parrot false propaganda. fyi, 99% of doctors are immunized. that should tell you something much more than what some nurses are choosing due to political beliefs..

This is a picture of Dr. Fauci getting vaccinated, on camera.

Dr. Fauci has served under six Presidents, and is considered one of the foremost experts on infectious diseases. Fauci has saved millions of lives. He's human and isn't perfect, but there is good reason why he has been at his post for decades.

Mengele was a Nazi monster, who killed millions. Including some of my family I will never get to know, because they were killed longed before I was born. To compare Fauci to Mengele is so bleeping offensive, it would be worse than calling you the biggest Seminole fan on the planet, times a million. I can't state how offensive this is.

Your idiotic and dangerous propaganda is everything that is wrong with this country. I'm Jewish. I voluntarily wear a mask because I feel it could potentially stop someone else from getting sick. My ancestors didn't have that choice when having to wear a Star of David, and wearing said star certainly did nothing for anyone's health. To relate the two is despicable beyond words. Just like equating Fauci and Mengele.

There have been over 5 billion COVID vaccine jabs given. And look at ICUs today. Who are they full of? Vaccinated people? Or the unvaccinated? It's the unvaccinated, because the vaccine is safe and effective.

The group that is closest to Mengele here are the anti-vaxxers and conspiracy nuts, like you, that will cause this virus to continue to spread, continue to mutate, and continue to kill millions. But even then, under normal conditions, I wouldn't make this association. But these aren't normal conditions.

I like how this fake newz is so blatant that it reveals itself right it in heading. Claiming Fauci said “Heck no, I’m not vaccinated”. If anybody believes that, they are more than a few fries short of a happy meal. They’ve got an empty bag. No toy or anything. Sad.

It’s more like the following. Awful way to go with such a easy precaution. And it’s free.

“Kevin McKenzie, of Senoia (33) died Sept. 2 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital after a three-week battle with the virus. He was not vaccinated.

McKenzie said that when he was admitted to the hospital, four different doctors told him they had not had to admit one single patient who was vaccinated.

Yes, there is something I want everyone to do for me that I was too damn stubborn to do, and that’s if you haven’t yet done so, go get your COVID vaccine,” McKenzie wrote.

McKenzie’s funeral was Sunday in Peachtree City.”

33-year-old Ga. man who died of COVID-19 made final plea for friends to get vaccinated

And they did actually fire a coach for not getting vaccinated:
I wonder what religion he said he belonged to in applying for a religious exemption.

It is despicable when someone like @Gatorrick22 directly equates doctors giving a life saving vaccine, and politicians/businesses that beg/incentivize people to get vaccinated to open our country again, to nazis. Though, I guess it makes sense to one who cites "Real Raw News" and is either so misguided, or willing to lie, as to assert that Fauci is not vaccinated.
