Well the USA is your home and could be considered a house by some so yeah, you haven't left your house. LIVE IN FEAR!!!!
Hospitals search for enough beds and nurses as virus rebounds The coronavirus is engulfing big city hospitals in states including Utah, Wisconsin and Indiana that are running low on nurses and beds and are being forced to set up overflow facilities. With new daily U.S. cases surpassing 62,000 on Thursday, the prospect of swamped intensive care units is prompting some governors who previously resisted public health orders to weigh new restrictions to ease pressure on their health care systems. From the early days of the pandemic, the availability of ICU beds — and hospitals' ability to treat people who need life-support equipment like ventilators to breathe — has been an important benchmark for whether local health systems can handle outbreaks. “Our hospitals are getting overwhelmed,” Republican Utah Gov. Gary Herbert said this week. “The dramatic increase in infections has put the integrity of our health care system at risk.“ ………. In Indiana, the state is facing “critical ICU bed shortages along with personnel shortages” according to Chief Medical Officer Lindsay Weaver, only three weeks after Republican Gov. Eric Holcomb removed most Covid-related restrictions. Officials have put out a call for volunteers to help fill staffing shortages in hard-hit facilities near the Michigan and Kentucky borders.
Fake news, essential worker here. Left my house every day since this all started putting myself and my family at risk so jackasses like you can make stupid comments like that. You’re welcome!
That's more of a personal risk than I'm willing to take right now--we'll see next year. NTL, you are spot on about proper precautions. I don't, however, share your opinion that he knows it.
Headed your direction San Diego for a week end of November. Hopefully we can find enough to do outside
Nonsense. It is just grotesque name calling to accuse people advocating good health practices as living in fear. It is a false binary choice. And, it is an insult. And, the economy is not getting better while a disease that has killed 218,000 people (visualize 2 Michigan Stadiums filled) runs rampant. Because most people aren't morons who live and behave recklessly. The whole country is paying for those people who do. See Wisconsin. See Utah. See Indiana. Cases increasing almost everywhere now. In the fall. Like the experts who Trump constantly insults said would happen. And, all the posters who kept yelling in August about cases not increasing; they don't understand exponential growth curves and why the explosion in cases shows up in 6 weeks.
With current COVID-19 cases skyrocketing across the country and entering a dangerous phase...it would seem obvious that all athletic sports programs should be cancelled. Would e foolish to think that a complete season of football (NFL/NCAA) is doable at this point. It would also appear that the Big Ten was correct in its assessment to cancel the season!
I tend to agree, though I'm not sure we are quite there yet. The college/pro football leagues will hold out as long as they possibly can, as the weekly revenue is astronomical. Will be interesting to see how things go, forward, backward, or sideways.
We will have to wait and see, but I kinda figured this is what would happen. It will likely get worse before it gets better. Playing football may become too problematic in the weeks to come.
Heading for the 3rd peak. More Indoor activity and drier air of fall and winter going to increase the spread. With a herd immunity policy in place with this criminally incompetent administration. What could go wrong?
