So which one of those 7 was the group in St. Louis doing?

So we should threaten people with firearms while they are exercising their constitutional rights?

These nut jobs (wife in particular) are being prosecuted because they are very clearly in the wrong.

So they decided to destroy it on the way out to prove how peaceful they were?

Last time I read the bill of rights, the right to trespass on private property was not in there. However, the couple should not have leveled their weapons at people that were just walking up the street or sidewalk, private or not. However, one step off that sidewalk onto their property (along with threats to do the couple harm) then they would have been justified in doing what they did.

I don't think anything is pretty clear right now, particularly if protestors entered their yard near their house, but I am perfectly willing to wait on our legal system to judge that when the evidence is presented to a jury, because surely all of that will come out.

Yes, there's a picture of the broken gate. With no idea when it was taken.
There's also a video of the gate intact while the protesters are inside.
    So what's your conclusion?

Generally when I put 2 and 2 together, I come up with 4. Maybe the homeowners destroyed it in the middle of the night to support their cause!

At the minimum, assuming some level of honesty, it was destroyed after they came out of their home and threatened people with guns. Because there is video of them doing that with a gate that is definitely not destroyed.

Obviously neither of us knows who broke it.
But judging from the video, does it look to you like the protesters broke when they first entered the street, which has been what the McCloskeys' defenders have claimed?

Here is an out of context random picture of a city burning. Why not just use this to support your case that these idiots were acting in self defense?

Agree the protesters should not have been on the defendants' property (if they were).

From what I've read the protesters were walking down the street when the couple came outside brandishing firearms and the woman was waving hers around at protesters (and inadvertently at her own husband it appeared).

That couple appeared to go outside looking for a fight, rather than trying to defend anything.

I never made that case, although I am willing to accept that as a one of several different possibilities.

All of the videos that I have seen only show the left gate intact. If you have one that shows the right gate intact as “the people exercising their First Amendment Rights” pass through the left, please post.

If that happened, and I don't know that it did, because as someone pointed out I don't know who did it (I don't), then there is probably video of that too. If there is, it will surely surface at some point.

Off-topic, but by the way, my rule of thumb re: life is that if I am in public, I am on some video somewhere 24-7.

    Agreed
Completely agree if that was truly the case. And if so, any person that actually pointed the weapon at the crowd (the woman definitely), should be charged. However, it isn't the easily determined cut and dried case that some appear to try to make it.
Certainly foolish at least in the aspect that they would have been much better protected in a fire-fight if they had stayed inside and fired from there!!

I disagree here. The gate is secondary to trespassing, as it was the protesters' presence in the neighborhood (not alleged destruction of property) that caused the McKloskey's to bring out their guns.

There is a video showing a fully intact gate followed by the guy with his gun a minute later. No edits in the video, the person taking the video walks through the gate and a minute later, there McCloskey is with a gun.

I say BS if the protesters did tear down a gate. If I had a home like that, I'd have cameras all over the property. Only way to resolve these situations is video. No video, your word against theirs.

My wife's ADT company called the other night that all of the window break alarms were going off. She told them to notify the police and we both drove down to her place and the idea was if no police, we don't drive into the parking lot. We got there and 4 police vehicles were already there and 2 officers were inside to determine if anyone was in there. It's 54,000 sqft so one can hide very easily. But I have guns at home but I didn't bring any. It's stuff that can be replaced; people can't be replaced.
