“COVID is unquestionably much worse than a bad flu season," said Dr. Allison McGeer, an infectious disease specialist at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto.”

Gosh I hope so. Wouldn't it be great if schools could get back on campus, fall sports could get going (football!), we could hang out at restaurants w/o worrying about contracting a disease, and we could get back together with friends/family to hug each other and you know . . . spend time together in the same room.
I haven't mentioned this on board, but about one month ago my grandmother passed. She was 92 - lived a good long life. Our family is somewhat conflicted on their love for her, as some of them were offended by things she said many years ago. It's just wrong, though, that none of us were able to come together and celebrate her life in our own certain ways . . . but . . . together.
When your family is separated by geography, sometimes it takes a wedding or funeral, etc. to bring everyone together. We were robbed of that by this damn virus. I'm over it.

I hope so too but his evidence is anecdotal. Granted he's more qualified than most to judge...

Brazil had over 40k cases today.
Another dumb leader who didn’t take it seriously and is now letting his countrymen pay the price.

That's a theory, and there are many theories on why COVID patients are so sick, but we don't have any proof for any of it. Avoiding intubation is of course a good thing, but I really doubt that it would alter mortality rates too much.

A newly discovered side effect of coronavirus is the need to take a pretend airplane trip out of the country. An entire fake travel industry has sprung up to satisfy this psychological need. This was first discovered in Taiwan.

Taiwan's first 'pretend to go abroad' tour takes off with fake flight

Things are getting pretty crazy over there.

There is much to digest in the following article on preliminary research. Some people may be genetically pre-disposed to severe cases of COVID-19 due to genes passed down from Neanderthals.

DNA Linked to COVID-19 Was Inherited From Neanderthals, Study Finds
