I guess it speaks to how desperate people are getting for any kind of good news when 3 people all post almost the exact same information within minutes of each other!!

Positive results announced over the weekend on the lead vaccine candidate from China's Sinopharm. Not a terrible surprised that this vaccine was developed by the parent company of Sinopharm's parent company at the Wuhan Institute.....yeah, that Wuhan Institute.

I would find this disturbing, and seriously smacking of politics and not sound public health policy, but I am not surprised by anything at this point.

I guess we are not going to wait for feedback on dexamethasone, certainly not waiting for the one previous report to be peer reviewed or other clinical studies.

Continued data confirming that Covid-19 is as much of a vascular disease as it is a respiratory disease.

Initial reports of this work were reported months ago. These are the first results I had seen written about anywhere since then. The drug is being used under the "compassionate use program" in the US. This is a long way from being accepted, but this tiny first step is probably as positive a result as researchers could have hoped for.

The first clinical trial of the Oxford vaccine candidate is getting underway. I also read that the first healthy volunteer in the UK was dosed today at a medical center in West London. I know everyone wants this vaccine, but do people really feel like we can know these are safe in such short periods of time?? Seems like it is moving a little "too Warp Speed", no??

I do not know enough about this kind of science to know if this is even worth getting interested, let alone excited about. However, it is interesting enough to keep following the research and trials.

Fairly positive sounding tone from Inovio and their Phase 1 data so far. (note this is only the 8 week mid-point data however. Miles and miles and miles to go with this). This is a DNA based vaccine candidate (not RNA like Moderna - though, not like I can explain what the key differences amount to anyway) and the interesting note bolded way down below is that it is proving to generate an equal balance in antibody and T-cell immune response. Again, not an expert or even learned, just find the research results fascinating as they go by.

This was very similar to what that crazy conspiracy dude from MIT who claims he invented email was talking about. Fox fave

I do not agree with the crack pot, but he is probably not wrong that healthy doses a of Vitamin A, C and D are good for you along with zinc and now apparently magnesium.

And, because Merck donated something like 60 million pills, someone is going to find a damned use for Hydroxychloroquine come hell or high water. This time, a more controlled study of the preventative benefits as opposed to treatment benefits.

They stopped the study because of the phony study that was published in Lancet.
