Honestly, Florida is doing quite well. I don't know if that's being aided by warm temperatures or not, but Florida has so many visitors and a pretty robust population in a lot of areas. I would say Florida is doing quite well handling this virus. Wyoming is benefitting from self-imposed social-distancing since the 1800's, lol.

You've spent a lot of time with this list of non-starters. You could save yourself a lot of that time if you'd just accept that no matter what Trump does, you're going to slam him.

Feeling pretty good about my current state of residence (NC). Especially since outside of Florida, NC may be the top destination for New Yorkers, and here in a beach town they are everywhere. Many have come down to get away.

As you know almost everything in that post are facts on a timeline. A small part is my editorial comment. As you also know, I'm not using the kind of inflammatory language in that post that a lot of folks - on both sides - on this board are using. I'm expressing an opinion in the course of presenting a set of facts along a timeline. If you don't think that is fair game on this board, there is nothing I can do about it. I'm confident that I'm making an effort to be fair in what I'm presenting. I don't deny that I have a point of view informed by what I've watched for four years. I don't think anyone on this thread in red, blue or purple would deny the same.

    Slam = facts

Trumpers prefer that you just post Trump’s presser talking points:
    • I shut down China and libbies wanted infected zombies to immigrate here
    • I always took this seriously
    • No one knew it would be this bad
    • There are drugs that will stop this thing if people would stop saying unproven
    • It’s going to burn up this summer
    • We’ll be open Easter... I didn’t say which year.

Interesting side effect of all this that is likely helping most places in terms of rooms and beds:
I heard from two sources in our hospitals here this week. The fear of Covid-19 actually have our local hospitals empty (relatively).
People who generally run to the ER for every little thing, or even moderate emergencies are avoiding the ER.

People who have been considering non essential services are holding off.

One of them told me the ER nursing staff is "bored".
They had made part of one floor available for Covid patients, but at last report the floor was mostly empty and was just being used for training scenarios.
This is a large regional trauma center with a network of multiple hospitals in the region.

My guess is this is playing out across the country with the exception of the hot spot areas, and even there is helping keep the numbers more manageable then they otherwise may be.

Just an interesting side note to this whole thing.

Agree. Charlotte here. We been closed for 25 days with barely any infected for a big metro area. NC cities got on this quickly and the country/mountain folk just get less travelers out there.

95% of the world's population in 1st world countries have been hit harder than the U.S. That tells me the President is doing at least as well as 95% of the world. Honestly, better, because containing a virus in the United States isn't quite as easy as it is many other countries. You're going to dump on him no matter what he does.

Maybe I am reading your post wrong, but I don't think he was trying to slam anyone.
@GatorGuyDallas gave a perfectly level headed response.
I actually thought he was trying to do the opposite of slam.

He listed facts (I think there is some nuance that is overlooked in many of those things probably), but he did not "slam" anyone.

Hospital stocks are down more than the market as a whole because their revenue generating work is being forestalled to conserve resources in anticipation of Covid 19 patients. There are layoffs. There are reductions in schedules. If you are in an area getting hit, you are swamped. If you are not, you have a low census and less activity.

This is all the more reason that there should have been a coordinated nationwide effort to send supplies and personnel from slow areas to hot areas. It is being done voluntarily now. It is absolutely the kind of thing the federal government could have coordinated quite a long time ago.

Please point out something from that post that is dumping on Trump so we can have an actual discussion.

Yeah. Cooper is obviously not my choice politically, but throughout this, and hurricane Florence he has been very good in crisis. Kudos to him.

It is just a continuation of the constant narrative that posters like GatorGuyDallas have been running now for 3+ years. No matter what Trump does, he gets ridiculed for it. As I've said he before, Trump could dawn a lab coat and go to work at any big time pharmaceutical, actually discover the cure for Covid-19 HIMSELF and they'd say he took too long to do it.

Any Nazi references are ridiculous and the posters making them are wrong. I think I have seen a handful of those types of posts on this board and they are wrong

I agree with not using ignore... it’s too easy to just scroll passed if you don’t have tolerance for nonsense.

I think you’re wrong about what Trump would do. I think pushing unproven drugs like a cheerleader when that should be left up to doctors is a prime example where he doesn’t care about the human fallout it’s the good/bad PR he cares about. He is deeply flawed and it’s dangerous.

Unfortunately more than a few, just like the Muslim accusations at Obama. Both sides take their shots.
