Even if you were in wuhan and the official numbers are remotely right, your odds of being infected right now are 1 in 200.
if you went to China generally, the odds are around 13000-1.
Europe has had 100 cases or so, so the odds there are around 3 million to 1 right now.

having said that, it could get worse, travel will probably be an awful hassle, lots of places will be closed, coming back to the states might be a nightmare depending on where you come from etc. but me personally, I honestly wouldn’t hesitate to go to anywhere other than China or that one city in SK right now. Probably some awesome deals, and even if by some crazy chance I got infected the odds of me dying given my age and general health profile are likely under 1 percent. In fact seriously, if it gets continues to get worse in Asia but just enough in other places to freak people out, I may look at some international travel deals now that I think about it.

Wonder how the virus “jumped” from Wuhan to southern South Korea.

5 million people got out of Wuhan before they locked it down. So my guess is, pretty easily.

At least we'll get trustworthy detailed data on the spread of the virus.

Lot of existing malnourishment there could inflate the mortality rate.

The U.S. patented coronavirus around 2015-2016 I think.

I had to Google “how do you patent a virus” to understand what you are talking about.

The WHO issued a statement that there is no drug that can treat chronovirus.

There are a few under phase III consideration, that have the potential to be effective. A small bio company in the US does have patent on what could be the most promising solution. They are actively working with officials in China.

There are crazy alt right websites saying the US has already cured Choronovirus and yapped our superiority. The US hasn’t patented chronovirus.

One small firm did good work and has a patent. Hopefully leads to a cure, but we ain’t there yet.

I saw the actual patent on coronavirus (or the govt's internet version of the patent at least) and it was dated either 2015 or 2016 in the U.S.

Is this a virus that can mutate to where any current vaccine will not work?

Lots of people doing work on it.

A patent “on the virus”? On a cure for the virus? Owned by the US government?

    Makes no sense.

    Link please.

This appears completely illogical. Why would anyone patent a virus (would have to be man-made and I highly doubt the USPTO would ever accept a patent for such)? Also, you do realize Coronaviruses are a family of viruses, right? This one is called Covid-19. SARS and MERS are also Coronaviruses.
