I see where you could think that I might neglect that, but I hoped that that would be embedded in the idea that it was good enough in my book. To answer your question, though. Negative! I like where your thinking is at, though.

Tebow struggling in Triple-A; still a work in progress
    By Gatorsports

By JOHN KEKIS AP Sports Writer
SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Six weeks into his latest baseball adventure, Tim Tebow is still struggling to find his stroke with the Syracuse Mets at the top rung of minor league ball.

He remains unflappable in spite of the numbers.
“I think I’m improving. I’m working, developing,” Tebow said Thursday before the Mets played a night game. “I think I’m getting better, adapting to some really good players, and I think that’s important.”

The former NFL quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner out of the University of Florida is on a first-place team in the International League that’s thrived on its pitching, and Tebow’s offensive contributions have been minimal. In Syracuse’s first 23 games, Tebow had just 10 hits and was batting .130 with 32 strikeouts. A recent surge of hits in six of seven games that included a game-winning, pinch-hit double boosted the average to .158, still last in the league and well below the dreaded Mendoza Line, but encouraging nonetheless.

“It definitely helps with confidence,” said Tebow, who turns 32 in mid-August. “More than just confidence, getting into a rhythm. I think sometimes if you’re not in rhythm you can press a little bit, swing at pitches you don’t want to swing at. But when you’re in a rhythm, it just flows a little bit better. I think that’s important.”

Was it mentioned that Tebow hit his first home run for AAA on Sunday? Good for him. Hope the light is coming on for him. It has been a rough year, but that is to be expected with the step up in pitching.

Alonso hit #16 last night to tie it up 5-5 in the 8th.

Go to ESPN and see the highlight. It was destroyed to left. 417 feet but it was hit a mile in the air and well over the foul pole.

Alonso with his 17th tonight. His average is down to the upper .250s but the pop is still there.

Former UF ace Singer promoted to Double-A

Brady Singer is moving on up.

The former Eustis High School and University of Florida pitching standout has been promoted to the Double-A Northwest Arkansas Naturals, Kansas City’s affiliate in the Texas League, according to Alec Lewis of The Athletic.

Singer had been pitching for the Wilmington Blue Rocks in the High-A Carolina League at the time of his promotion. His final outing with the Blue Rocks was dominant effort on Monday against Myrtle Beach — seven innings, no runs, four hits, and 63 strikes on 93 pitches.
It was Singer’s third straight scoreless start. He has not allowed an earned run since May 9 against the Salem Red Sox.

Singer leaves Wilmington with a 5-2 record and 1.87 ERA. In five starts in May, he has a 3-0 record with a 0.90 ERA, along with 29 strikeouts and a 1.00 WHIP.

I may try and see him pitch now! They play the Travs all the time. This is good news for me! ;) I got to see Bader when he was with the Cardinals AA.
