I have to disagree with this, when GWB nominated Harriet Miers it was the opposition from people on the right that caused him to pull the nomination.

Leahy is the left's latest poster boy for term limits. What a complete embarrassment. Retire already. And Feinstein is seriously mathematically challenged given her abortion whopper today.

Check your posts. I never used the word "travesty"
    only quoting someone else's word.

I stand corrected. And I’m glad you don’t consider it a travesty.

I simply consider it an incredible abuse of power.

Booker releases Kavanaugh documents that he wasn't supposed to. They were labeled confidential, but don't seem to have any personal info or anything related to national security.
Implication is that Republicans just didn't want the public to see them.

I think the issue wasn't whether the Republicans wanted the emails seen. They were from the Bush administration and his staff has the right to classify the documents as to whether they be made public or not under executive privilege. The senate was able to look at those documents and incorporate their content into their own thinking about how they should vote. Also I think I am correct in saying that many of the exchanges were in advocacy of the administration's position on an issue rather than as a judge, so they don't reflect Kavanaugh's personal opinions on the matters. All Booker did by releasing these documents is make future caretakers of presidential records be less likely to share documentation out of fear of leaking.

One of the quotes Booker put forth yesterday was the following text. I read that as a statement (mentioned personal feeling) in favor of excluding race as a component of a security procedure plan and concern over what an "interim" procedure including race might entail.

oh, I was confused as to how this could be a congressman. They look so different when they don't have their head up their ass.

I happened to be listening to this live. This guy needs to be remembered as he gets it. Probably the only meaningful statements I have heard!

Judge Kavanaugh was nominated because of his extremist views that a President is immune from investigation, subpoena, in a civil or criminal case, whether or not related to his presidency. That is his stated published position in a law review article and he should be rejected for that reason. Period. Plenty of other qualified anti-abortion right wingers to pick from
