Gators Tweets of the Week: 1.28.13

There are a couple of tweaks to the Tweets of the Week. And yes, that sentence was a successful attempt at a corny rhyming scheme. We could have added something about fullback Scott Peek, but that would have been too much.

Anyway, we’ve added 20-plus new people with all of the future Florida Gators football players on the list. Eight early enrolled earlier this month for the spring semester and already are putting out interesting tweets from campus. The rest, who will sign Feb. 6, are tweetin’ fools as well as evident by this edition.

The other change is switching this from a Sunday feature to Mondays. It’s because of all of the days of the week, many of the more entertaining tweets are posted on Sundays. Not sure why, but that’s the way it is.

We’re also still keeping tabs on all of the juniors who declared early for the 2013 NFL Draft as well as the seniors. We’ll keep including those former Gators through the draft, so this feature will be a little more crowded than usual for the next few weeks.

Keeping those guys in also allows us to include this awesome Tweet of the Week, which features a passing of the torch of sorts. It was sent by outgoing Gators safety Matt Elam to incoming Florida running back Kelvin Taylor, a true freshman who is on campus after enrolling early:

Follow the lil homie ‪@Kelvintaylor21, he a product of the city #561, he know something & will do numbers at UF iSwea..! ‪#GatorNation</i>

And while we’re at it, we’ll name a runner-up for the Tweet of the Week, this one from Elam to Gators cornerback Marcus Roberson:

Go follow that upcoming Thorpe winner & future first rounder ‪@Roberson_5, I played on top of em’, he know what he doing..! ✊ ‪#GatorNation</i>

Now, on to the best of the rest:
