UF Recruiting: Prep Recap Week 14

Every Thursday, Gator Country will run a high school preview of all of the current commits and a few of Florida’s biggest targets and follow that up with a recap on Monday.

All games are on Friday unless otherwise noted.

Crescent City (Fla.) and Gators defensive tackle commitment Caleb Brantley ended their season with a 5-5 record

Gainesville (Fla.) 41, Armwood (Fla.) 10 — Florida receiver commitment Alvin Bailey threw a touchdown for Armwood in the loss.

Canton (Mich.) and UF offensive lineman commitment Cameron Dillard ended their season a 6-4 record.

Godby (Fla.) 64, Bishop Kenny (Fla.) 29 — Florida receiver commitment Ahmad Fulwood and Bishop Kenny ended their season as Fulwood was forced to leave the game due to a shoulder injury.

Wharton (Fla.) and Gators cornerback commitment Vernon Hargreaves ended their season with a 8-3 record

Buford (Ga.) 31, Carver (Ga.) 7 — Florida receiver commitment Marqui Hawkins and Carver ended their season with 12-2 record.

Colquitt County (Ga.) 31, Parkview (Ga.) 15 — Gators offensive lineman Octavius Jackson and Colquitt County are heading to the semifinals with the win.

Lincoln (Fla.) 35, Oviedo (Fla.) 29 — Florida linebacker commitment James Hearns and Lincoln were in a close contest until a late touchdown that sealed the game for them.

Robinson (Fla.) 49, Pasco (Fla.) 21 — Pasco, led by Gators defensive lineman commitment Joey Ivie, ended its season with the loss and finished with a 12-1 record on the year.

Winter Haven (Fla.) and Florida running back commitment Adam Lane ended their season with a 10-2 record.

First Coast (Fla.) and Gators linebacker commitment Daniel McMillian ended their season with a 10-1 record.

South Sumter (Fla.) and Florida safety commitment Keanu Neal ended their season with a 11-1 record.

Naples (Fla.) 41, Mainland (Fla.) 14 — Gators linebacker commitment Quinton Powell and Mainland ended their season with a 9-5 record.

Archer (Ga.) and Florida defensive lineman commitment Antonio Riles ended their season with a 6-4 record.

Hillsborough (Fla.) and Gators defensive line commitment Jordan Sherit ended their season with a 9-2 record.

Brentwood Academy (Tenn.) and UF quarterback commitment Max Staver ended their season with a 9-3 record.

Glades Day (Fla.) and Florida running back commitment Kelvin Taylor ended their season with a 9-3 record. 

Gainesville (Fla.) 42, Armwood (Fla.) 10 — Gators receiver commitment Chris Thompson and Gainesville avenged last year’s playoff loss to Armwood. Thompson also had a touchdown catch in the game.

Trinity Christian (Fla.) and Florida safety commitment Nick Washington ended their season with a 9-2 record.

Andrew always knew he wanted to be involved with sports in some capacity. He began by coaching high school football for six years before deciding to pursue a career in journalism. While coaching, he was a part of two state semifinal teams in the state of Alabama. Given his past coaching experience, he figured covering recruiting would be a perfect fit. He began his career as an intern for Rivals.com, covering University of Florida football recruiting. After interning with Rivals for six months, he joined the Gator Country family as a recruiting analyst.
