Florida Gets Three Seed in NCAA Tournament

The Gators are headed to Texas.

After losing to Ole Miss in the SEC Tournament final, Florida was awarded a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournmanent.

The Gators will play in the South region where they will take on Northwestern State in Austin, Texas on Friday.

The Kansas Jayhawks were awarded the No. 1 seed in the region.

Should Florida advance against Northwestern State, the Gators will take on the winner of the No. 6 UCLA/No. 11 Minnesota matchup. Billy Donovan has a 3-0 record against UCLA coach Ben Howland, but is just 10-12 against Minnesota’s Tubby Smith.

If the Gators advance to the Sweet Sixteen in Arlington, Texas, they could potentially finish their matchup with two-seed Georgetown. The Gators and Hoyas opened up the season on the U.S.S Bataan, but the game was cancelled after halftime due to moisture on the court.
