Several out of state underclassmen prospects have had a chance to take virtual visits with the Florida Gators to see the program from a far during the dead period.
2022 linebacker Cyrus Moss (6-5, 200, Las Vegas, NV. Bishop Gorman) took a virtual visit with the Gators last week and enjoyed the visit.
“I was excited to see what Florida was all about,” Moss said of his virtual visit with Florida. “They did a great job of covering everything in detail. I could barely ask questions because they covered just about everything. It was fun, they showed their medical staff, training staff, weight room, training room, campus, field and pretty much everything else.”
Strength and conditioning coach Nick Savage impressed Moss with his presentation and energy during the visit.
“The presentation was really good, everything flowed very well and it would get you excited,” he said on the message from Nick Savage. “Coach Savage seemed like a really great guy and he cared about the players not only athletically but personally. He was fired up all the time in the videos and he said the players like to talk to him all the time which isn’t hard to believe.”
While on the visit several coaches had a message for Moss about how he would play in the Gators defense.
“Most of the defensive staff, a few other coaches also popped in to welcome me,” Moss said on talking to the coaches. “Their head coach, strength coach and lead trainer were there most of the time. They were all explaining that they want me coming off the edge being their weak side /pass rushing outside linebacker. I’d be doing all things off the edge.”
Head coach Dan Mullen also spoke with Moss about why the Gators would fit the linebacker’s game.
“Coach Mullen gave me an overview of the tour at the end,” he said on Mullen’s message to him. “We also spoke about the NFL and how different things worked. He answered a few questions we had about planning visits and things like that.”
After the visit Moss says he has a lot of interest in the Gators for several different reasons but mainly because of the coaching staff.
“Overall I thought Florida’s staff was experienced and knowledgeable,” Moss said on his interest in Florida. “I think they have a very well run program and they had lots of renovations in planning that should offer some good additions. The energy was also very high and all the guys were always pumped up and that comes from the coaches.”
