Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators have hosted several prospects this spring committed to other schools and that continued on Saturday.
Kentucky offensive line commit Richard Leonard (6-3, 320, Cocoa, FL. High) was on campus to watch the Gators practice and he got to talk to several coaches.
“The visit went really, really well,” Leonard said of his visit to Florida on Saturday. “I got to watch practice, take some pictures and talk with Coach Rat [Keiwan Ratliff], Coach [Greg] Knox, Coach [John] Hevesy and Coach [Dan] Mullen.”
While watching practice, Leonard focused on the offensive line but he was impressed with the overall practice for the Gators.
“Practice went well,” he said of Florida’s practice. “It was really high energy a lot of intensity and just a great environment all around.”
Offensive line coach John Hevesy also spoke with Leonard on Saturday and had a message for him.
“Just that he loved my film and the way I play the game,” Leonard said of Hevesy’s message to him on Saturday. “He sees me as an interior guy, guard or center and he said he would be down to watch me practice this spring.”
The Gators haven’t offered Leonard yet but on Saturday Hevesy talked to the Kentucky commit about a potential offer.
“Not yet but he [Hevesy] said just to keep working,” he said on if Florida talked to him about a potential offer. “He said don’t frustrated with the timing of how it happens but he’ll be by to see me this spring.”
The Gators aren’t the only team talking to Leonard as several other schools besides Kentucky are after the offensive lineman.
“Miami, FSU, Tennessee and Oregon are all recruiting me very hard,” Leonard said of other schools recruiting him hard.
