Florida Gators’ recruits react to the season so far

The Florida Gators have sprinted out to the bye week with a 6-1 record and ranked number 11 in the country in the AP Poll in Dan Mullen’s first year in Gainesville.

While a lot of the fan base expected the Gators to rebound from last year’s 4-4 record, recruits were watching closely to see just how much of an improvement they made in 2018.

Recruits and commits were watching to see how Mullen would run his offense and defense and so far those guys have been impressed with the 2018 season for Florida.

GatorCountry asked recruits around the country to give their thoughts on the 2018 season for Florida and their thoughts on the job Mullen has done so far in Gainesville.

Quarterback commit Jalon Jones: “They’re doing a great job. I mean, I set the bar up so high for my expectations of them that the only way that they can beat it is if they win a National Championship. I know that we’re doing a great job so far, and we’re going to continue excelling in doing what we do as a team. We’re just going to keep going on and winning game by game.”

Offensive line target Kamaar Bell-“I know Coach Mullen has put them through a lot and they have done a great job.”

Mississippi State defensive line commit Nathan Pickering-“He’s doing great job with Florida to me.”

2020 offensive lineman Miller Lewis-“I think they’re coming together as a team. It looks to me like Coach Mullen is doing a pretty good job.”

2020 receiver Michael Redding-“I think Florida is having a decent season, they kind of started off slow but you can see the improvement in the team as they play game to game.”

2020 running back Jordon Simmons-“Florida is doing a good job this season they had a tough loss early this season but bounced backed and have been playing with higher standards and really been working and coming out real physical. Dan Mullen is doing a great job and he’s turning the program around and really bring the Florida team back to how it used to be. They’re working hard to bring home a National Championship.”

2020 defensive line Gervon Dexter-“He’s doing great with them and the defense is locking up.”
