Gators to host spring volleyball tournament April 9

The University of Florida volleyball team will hold its lone home spring event of the season on Saturday when it plays host to the Florida Spring Tournament at the L. Gale Lemerand Center. The event begins at 10 a.m. ET and is free and open to the public.

The Gators finished with a 29-2 overall record in 2010 and claimed the program’s 19th Southeastern Conference title. The Gators advanced to the NCAA regional semifinals for the 19th time in the last 20 years and extended the nation’s longest streak of consecutive 25-win seasons to 20.

Florida will welcome fellow Sunshine State teams FSU, South Florida and UCF to the event.

The schedule is as follows:

11 a.m. – Florida vs. USF and FSU vs. UCF (2 sets to 25)

12 p.m. – Florida vs. UCF and USF vs. FSU (2 sets to 25)

1 p.m. – Florida vs. FSU and UCF vs. USF (2 sets to 25)

3 p.m. – Florida vs. UCF and USF vs. FSU (1 set to 25, 1 set to 15)

3:45 p.m. – Florida vs. FSU and UCF vs. USF (1 set to 25, 1 set to 15)

4:30 p.m. – Florida vs. USF and FSU vs. UCF (1 set to 25, 1 set to 15)
