He's a beast. The next Joe Mauer in his good years, but right handed batter.

He would be blocked by Oso Blanco who hit another HR against the Nats today.

    Sorry, Oso Blanco?

Evan Gattis is a good story so far but I'm not sure he can keep it up. I really hope he does but at the moment pitchers don't know him and will adjust to him. If he continues to hit well mid-season then he is probably the real deal. Like I said, I really hope he proves himself so we can let McCann go after his contract is up. Although I love him, there are too many questions health wise with McCann right now to pay him what he will ask.

Z is a great player and gator. How about a shout to the other gators who are playing in the milb? Tuck, Toledo, Maddox, Johnson, Fontana, Adams, Chapman? Some of these guys are putting up some stellar numbers, too! Gator pride!

I've been meaning to look up where former Gators are in the majors & minors, but haven't had the time. If anyone does so and wants to share here, that would be awesome.

Funny story I heard about Zunino on Monday. My son was playing a middle school high school game and the dad was sitting beside me and he brought it up about the SC run of 2 nc's in baseball and that he was there with his kid and they actually me Z at a gift store. The story goes that they were familiar with Z and recognized him and asked the lady that worked there if she would mind taking a picture of him and his son with Z. Now both the dad and the son were completely decked out in Gamecock clothes. He told me that Z looked at him when the dad asked and said "Do I really have to? Just kidding..." The dad told me that Z stayed a while and talked to his son for about 15 minutes about baseball. He thought that was awesome.

Zunino is a stud I can not wait for him to get his shot in the pros. Even when the changed the bats in college baseball he was still hitting over .300, hitting 60-80 RBI and leading in homeruns. It tells you something about him, wish the rays would get him for catcher. His future is endless if he does it right.
