    1996-

We were living in Corbin, KY which is just 25 miles into Kentucky on I75 about 75 miles from Knoxville.

We made friends with some Tennessee season ticket holders at our church and they invited me to the game with them.

Very nice couple and good friends at the time, but I always had the feeling that day they thought they were taking me to a butt whipping of the Gators. They did show me all the pregame stuff, the Vol walk, the radio pregame broadcast outside the stadium and the whole atmosphere of UT football.

Once inside, we got our seats that we about 30 yard line about 30 rows up. The folks around us were nice but were sure I was like a lamb being led to the slaughter. If you remember the Vols of the 90s they were always sure they would beat us and a week after the game all they would talk about is that they should have beat us. This the phrase Volzheimers was created.

One couple in front of us really (good natured) ragged me about how bad we were against Georgia Southern and that we really did not have a chance against the powerful Vols and Peyton. That the revenge for RUTS in 1995 would be sweet.

Two things I remember-one is when the score hit 35-0 I remarked to the couple in front that even Georgia Southern gave us a better game than this.

Second thing was the first and only time I a game early that the Gators were playing in. I had no choice....it was after all a 75 mile walk back to Corbin.

    95, no doubt.
My favorite, out of the 15 or so, that I have seen in person.

The cover was supposed to be Peyton on his way to a Heisman...whoops ;)

You can thank UT's Cedric Wilson for that '99 crowd. He said playing in The Swamp was no different than playing in Commonwealth Stadium.

We made sure he knew the difference.

And, really, wasn't our last loss against Tennessee the bullshit " forgot to start the clock before the punt after Dallas baker got the retaliation personal foul" game?

1995 was surreal. Scoring 48 points, on consecutive possessions, probably has never been done against a team that finished the season in the top 5.

I think we also scored the most points vs UT since 1900.

    I'll give a vote for 2007.

We realized how awesome Tim was going to be.
    Brandon James was amazing.
Percy Harvin's best run on the reverse (maybe the best play I've ever seen).
Even Cam Newton obliterating a vol in garbage time.

    Fun times.

1995 62-37. I was a groomsmen at a wedding at Sea Island. One of the other groomsman, a very good friend and huge UT fan, was giving me hell heading into half. Wedding ceremony began during half. When we came out of the ceremony and turned on the game . . . well, it was a very different situation as UF had just pulled ahead. As the onslaught continued, we kept throwing down the brown water, but for very different reasons.

Yeah, I was hoping Oregon didn't eclipse 62 points last week for that very reason.

Oh 95 was the funnest game ever. 1st qtr it was hot and Peyton Manning put on a clinic throwing some beautiful passes and getting the Vols out to an early lead.

But the heat and the Gators conditioning became a factor by the middle of the 2nd qtr. We started turning the tide already when PM led Joey Kent downfield that he had to look back to find..guess he did not see Lawrence Wright until he was rocked 3 yds backwards from where he came. The sight and sound of that hit are still fresh in my mind. Wow.

Even though we fumbled the next play and UT ran it in for a TD it was clear we were coming on and we scored a TD with about 20 secs left in the half.

2nd half Jay Graham fumbled at midfield and the Gators went on a 48 point tear in which UT was literally spinning around in disbelief. The rain came and increased the fun..the picture of Manning sitting on the bench with rain drenching him with a look of shock is a Gator fan favorite.
