Didn't the ps3 eventually outsell the 360?
I am holding out until maybe some time after launch. There seems to be bugs in games and sometimes even the units themselves (3 rings of death)... It's still going to be PS4 for me for the first time ever unless Microsoft makes drastic changes.
Three rings of death was more than a few units and it was widespread
so MS is already behind PS with sales of the 360 and a year longer on the market and they will be destroyed with the ps4
MS has dug themselves into a hole. They're going to have to do some serious PR damage control similar to what Sony had to do after the PSN breach, but probably a much larger scale. After all, the breach wasn't Sony deliberately screwing it's customers, and they pretty much handled the situation the best way possible. I can't imagine that MS would need to completely overhaul the production of the system. But what MS has done is pretty much give their customers the big middle finger. Personally, I was entering the release of the new consoles with an open mind. After all, I want what is best for me. I'll still see what they have to offer once they've both actually come out, but since these announcements, I highly doubt I'll be considering XBone.
I will say though, if anyone has the money and resources to recover from their own arrogance, it's MS.
Meh... Its stupid, Microsoft has lost the console war already and the hardware is almost identical.
I think its retarded that the same people who are all up in arms about MS's always online/once every 24 hour requirements. Are the same mouth breathers that buy a dozen games from steam at a time. They never seem to make the logical leap that they need to be connected to steam, to play those games.
meh, why pay 100 more for something that is pretty much the same?
I love this comparison, it's not like PC users don't have any other option besides steam (GOG, Desura, Origin, Gamefly, etc etc +disc based content we can purchase anywhere). Also there is an "offline mode" on steam that lets you play your installed games offline so your point it moot. Steam literally has sales almost every weekend on games compared to MS sporting HALO3 for 50$ still (new).
Steam games generally run less than XBox/PS3 games, and there isn't already a culture of sharing/reselling PC games the way there is with console games. PC gaming already feels more ephemeral, we've been able to trade cartridges since before Atari.
Go tell ASUS PC gaming is a fad, apparently they didn't get that memo: http://rog.asus.com/
XDone getting slaughtered
More on MS running XDone exclusive titles on a gaming PC during E3
hahaha MS isn't even using Windows 8 themselves, hmmm wonder why (it's trash)
MS Sends employees to try and deter folks from purchasing the competition, this reeks of desperation
If they don't take it down by the end of the day, the MS employee
This makes me...angry.
I don't want them to mine information on me and I don't want to see their crap. There's a reason I use firefox with Adblock (when not on my wife's iMac).
Why would I tell them that? It isn't what I said.
I understood you wrong, my fault
You're right, I was thinking multiplayer specifically. Microsoft's online resale market hasn't been great either.
Your correct anything multiplayer is online only and it seems as if single player experiences are slowly dying off for the online experience so I can see why a move towards online exclusives would be beatifically but MS is going about it the wrong way, you offer us options not force rules upon us an expect us to obey.
Looks like the back peddling has begun.
Microsoft came out with a statement too..
I bet that crow is tasty.
I knew they might come to their senses. They better have MAJOR games coming for the price they are charging, it wouldn't surprise me if they matched PS4's $399.
