Don't have internet access? Like more than half of the xbox360 units sold that are not on xbox live; well MS doesn't care about you go kick rocks they say

Yeah we have internet access as we are using it right now but "what if" is always out there. Lets say you take the console with you to the beach house/cabin (may/maynot have internet) for the week and want to watch a movie/play a game, good luck.

And I'm calling it now just like with the PSN but even more so for XBL they have put a target on there backs with this cloud/always online based stuff IMO Some hacker group i.e. anonymous is gonna try and take it down at some point. If the Pentagon can get hacked xbox live all day can get shut down.

Games across the 3 major platforms

Obviously there is a difference in Internet access and paying for Xbox live. I have 3 brothers, all 4 of us have Xbox, only 2 have Xbox live. I assure you my other 2 bros have Internet access and get game updates/patches over Internet. They just don't game often and don't play online.

    Well given:

1 - It's comparable (but slightly less powerful overall) than the PS4

    2 - It will cost $100 more

3 - You have no choice but to be online all of the time (versus having the freedoms that come with not having that restriction)

4 - You can freely share, sell or borrow games on PS4 but not on XB1

5 - If you do choose to play online it will cost (free on PSN)

6 - Not indie developer friendly

There are very few reasons to defend the XBox One here.

One thing I have heard that is sort of a downer is that PS4 will make you pay to play online but its something like 50 bucks for a year. With all the stuff you get on PS+, thats a steal. Also, I have heard you get a lot of free games on PS+.

I'm an Xbox guy that will be going to PS4 so I don't know much about the free game thing, can anyone who has PS+ explain that?

I am hoping Microsoft gets the vibe that they are going to get crushed on the next generation and makes some DRASTIC changes to keep us.

It's not the point that it has to be online all the time, mine is now but rather they demand your console to be online at all times to play a game in single player mode.

    F' off MS

THIS!!!! and you can't trust them anymore, they tried us and they will try again so you have to show them you wont support that ish by not buying it. They are trying to take away consumer rights/options in the name of "features" and some food for thought just as Verizon is facing scrutiny for giving the NSA/CIA etc our phone records do you think they wont try and access highly detailed webcams in millions of american homes? Even if it's not "Big brother" I'm already imagining the possiblities of what devious individuals could accomplish with access to these ALWAYS plugged in webcams i.e. night in paris videos via your console.

Oh yeah and have fun not playing your system on launch day XBone users when the networks get saturated with people trying to log in/update the console all at the same time I.E. Diablo 3 launch or SimCity 5 launch.

To me the used game situation is more egregious than the internet. If I buy a game it should be mine to do with what I please. If i want to give it to my friends I should be able to without any restrictions.

Apple seems to license games to the user without sharing rights. I have to believe that is the model MS is after. Doesn't seem to be going over well.

It would be understanding if it was similar to PC where anyone can easily burn a game and bring it back, but its generally not THAT easy to burn a game and get it to work. You need the disc to play so if I give someone my game, two people aren't playing it for the price of one.

Microsoft is ridiculous.. I may even be switching from MS for my OS. I'm looking at some Linux distros to replace it.

So does Steam. The difference is Steam is a lot more open in terms of where and when you can play games and they generally run $20-$50 cheaper.

We are talking app games vs real games. If I download Plants vs. Zombies on my iPhone I get that it is for me only. It is also only what? 10 bucks max? But if I am paying 50-60 bucks for a video game (and I assume Microsoft isn't going to be lowering prices of games) I better well be able to do what I want with it.

This article adds even more reason to not buy the Xbox One. It describes the appearance that it will invade the victim’s privacy.

Ha! One Night in Gatornation240, another reason to not support this abomination!

But seriously, that's just a creepy situation (not because of you Gatornation, all of us.) The Germans are basically saying it's surveillance and I agree.

Rewarding you for consistently viewing ads by monitoring your eyes?? Ugh, for multiple reasons. It reminds me of that joke about the motel porn that ends with you being the show in the next room.

Was at gamestop yesterday picking up a new game and the talk about the XBone was very negative. People were pre-ordering the PS4 though. I have to imagine people are going to lose their jobs over this at Microsoft. They are getting crushed and unless they have a game that is a system seller I think they may looking a really rough time in this next gen.

I wasn't planning on diving in come November but I may change my mind depending on how good the reviews for the launch day titles are. Watch Dogs looks really cool.
