If he can't catch, that doesn't matter. Hopefully his hands won't be a liability. We've had too many drops the last few years.

He was not allowed to sign with Bama early. Different than choosing not to sign early

Grades this year must be all As and Bs to qualify. Won’t kniw until graduation, so other teams are focused on qualifiers.

We are now a top choice by default here, as opposed to him always being interested in us. Always said he wanted to go out of state, but not many takers at this point.

    Would have rather had Schwartz

I think i would rather a kid who is committed to football, assuming he qualifies.

Sounds like Watkins has some hurdles to jump over. Both personally and with academics. Lemons had some issues as well and buckled down to get in. He's looking very good for next year. Watkins can go that route or the Cleveland/Scarlet saga. Time with tell. Question is does UF believe enough in him and Watkins in himself ??

Cleveland? Are you referring to the BB gun incident? I can't recall him doing anything as outlandish as Scarlett. Help me out. Thanks

Oops, your correct. Had a brain freeze. It was the club headed clown. Seems Grandpa is working in some old school thought process with Watkins. Just so we can get Copeland and 1 or 2 more WR prospects in. On the positive side of things, hard to make the UA Roster and be a complete clown. Lot of positive feedback from last week on Watkins.

Well that's the catch. If he had the grades of Schwartz, it sounds like he would have already signed with the gumps. I'm not a fan. If he does sign with us, hope it doesn't bite us in the butt.

I watched Schwartz in UAA and he looked good, very good. I now don't understand some of the views he was more a plan B for us.

    Good point.

“Stealing”one from bama is never bad. Both guys imo have some question marks.

I can only assume if he was a plan B is would have to do with his commitment to football vs track/Olympic and how much of a true WR he is vs a gadget guy.

1 more WR is needed for sure. Could that be Gammage (Miami putting pressure on him???), and lots here not really liking him much (tall but fairly slow)?

2 would be excellent given Grimes and Green are RS Frosh this year (assuming Grimes can get a hardship).

    3 might be overkill.

Watkins could be one, but my first choices would be Jacob & Bush.

Gammage is a great possession receiver. If you throw it his way, he will catch it. Not sure we have one of those on our roster at the current time

Gammage is also a pretty good DB. Had a pick 6 in HS playoffs. Does seem a bit slow, what like 4.89 40. Catching the ball accounts for alot as well. Seeing alot of Tennessee rumblings on Watkins as well. Crystal Balls are almost all UF on Watkins right now.

I don't think gammage knows what he's going to do. IMO, Copeland and Watkins are gators. Watkins is a HUGE UPGRADE over gammage.

I think Jalen Preston, Justyn Ross and Tommy Bush are all long shots at this point. Ross is all Clemson. I don't think Preston chooses us over TAMU. And for whatever reason Bush is really feeling Baylor. I'm curious as to how Baylor us interesting to these kids. They've flipped Thornton and may have Bush wrapped up. Very impressive.

If we come up short on OL and LB I think we may take one more WR. That wr could be gammage depending on where his mind is. He just so happens to be one of the many kids involved in the brawl at the Fl/GA All Star Game. I don't know if he'll be punished or exactly what his role was but it could be a factor.

Sad to hear on Ross as he's likely the best of the bunch.

Thanks foe the update Notorious. You and Candy have done a great job so far.

This coming weekend is our first big visiting weekend of the new year, correct?

    Who can we expect?

Ross was a very long shot to begin with. Gammage doesn't know because he doesn't know how far down on the depth chart he will be yet. Obviously since we should have Copeland and Watkins and are still hoping for Preston or Bush, Gammage has become a plan C or even D. Plus as a tall, slow WR he would be behind Van Jefferson, Josh Hammond, Daquon Green, and Rick Wells (if he returns).
Notorious well said about Watkins is a HUGE upgrade and MUCH NEEDED!
