This conversation is going to get really interesting when there is an openly straight transgender person that also happens to be a division 1 caliber football player.

This will go to Too Hot if the topic gets pushed any further, but fyi - the legislation passed in AZ "protecting religious freedom" (or something to that effect) appears to allow any discrimination you can rationalize via your religion (from what I was reading the other day).

But isn't that a point for those who disagree???? Why do we have to remove ourselves from the situation??

You dont have to. But Sam has the legal right to work In the NFL if he gets drafted, regardless of his sexual preference. And he has the legal right to be in the work environment.

There is also a right to be free of other workers who cause an uncomfortable work environment.

Having to strip in front of other workers could be a lawsuit in itself even before the gay portion is added.

Says the guy with the "collective" spirit. Yes I Am and individual who chooses to think like an individual and if I feel uncomfortable and/or that my heterosexuality is being exploited by someone that is not a heterosexual it's MY CHOICE, not the collective who has the final say.

Lol, what a joke. Publicity stunt for his lobbying firm. And laughably unconstitutional to boot

Right, so we agree it's a you problem. The gay guy in my earlier example didn't change from freshman year to senior year. Your assumptions regarding his intentions towards you changed once you found out he was gay, and it made you uncomfortable. That's for you to work out.

It could be as simple as having a direct conversation with that person regarding their intentions, and expressing your comfort level...or lack thereof...with that person being in the locker room. You'd be amazed what you can learn through open and honest dialogue.

You might learn you had absolutely nothing to worry or be uncomfortable about.

I didn't want to say this but I have a sister that is a lesbian and I still feel the same way..I've already worked "myself" out. So no we don't agree and your petty argument will not sway me whatsoever. I don't need a freshman to senior year scenario..I've lived it and until you do the same your self righteous opinion is just like you...moot.

    You mad bro?

No need to label my opinions as self-righteous of petty because you don't agree.

I have gay family members as well, you and I just don't see eye to eye is all.

What made all these private matters need to be made public?

I would suspect that it was the narrative, but I could be wrong.

Not directed at posters, but our society. Should I declare publicly that I like women's feet?

So if Hooters had a changing room, and I worked there..I can be in there when the girls are naked right? If not, that would be discrimination.

There's really two different issues. Would you be comfortable with a homosexual teammate (in the showers or otherwise), and how would you deal with it if you're not comfortable.

But this isn't just an issue related to gays... how do you relate to other guys who are complete azzhats, thugs, overly arrogant, too soft (like Martin at Miami) or maybe have a religious or ethnic or cultural background you despise. There's all kinds of reasons some people are uncomfortable around other people, or can't stand to be around other people. You have to deal with those things one way or another in a team environment.

I am going to start my own religion. It's you're a Gator fan, if not and female you must serve Gator fans. We can the text of the religion "TheWordofSpurrier"
    call
Sure it's asinine, but it's my religion...and my opinion without any facts is my religion, so it should dictate all lives around me. FSU has some really dumb girls...time to go get some servants!

If you're gonna make up a religion, that doesn't sound like a bad way to start. ;)
