Edit: Am I wrong or did the consensus number 1 or 2 receiver in nation commit to us, Ermon Lane and Da'vonte Philips ('15)?

Yeah, but the consensus #1 & #2 TE's are on our current roster and they apparantly can't beat out Clay Burton and converted DE Westbrook, and reside firmly on the bench.

Sorry, I was kidding. I assumed the poster meant to say our current QB will be better than Bama's next year.

I firmly believe five or six of our defense start for Bama over who they have now.

Again I say Trey could start.

Also we have RBs that would play/start for ATM I feel.

The issue is why our offensive talent is lacking

Our players were equally rated coming out of high school, so it isn't a matter of recruiting. In many cases we have arguably the top player.

Yet they underachieved. Literally every offensive player has failed to meet their expectations. Yet on defense our recruiting failure rate is much much lower.

Statistically that makes no sense. Our bust rate should be equal to that of other powerhouse recruiting teams as well as it should be equal on both sides of the ball.

It isn't? Why? I'd say its a combination of bad player development, multiple systems, and generally worse recruiting.

UF has had highly ranked recruiting classes. I think Bama's and A&M's coaches would get more production out of UF's players.

We've had highly ranked classes because of their size, not because of their quality. I agree Alabama's coaches would get more out of them.

I was looking at Bama's running backs and even their 3rd stringer in Drake would be our 1st stringer. I'm not knocking Mack or Matt but Drake seems to run faster and he's built like a tank. All of Bama's running backs look impressive and even TJ might have competition, so he needs to do better (fumbles). Bama's receivers are better than ours right now only because they get a ton of reps in-game.

But looking at A&M, their running back was equally as impressive as any of Bama's running backs. Small, fast, punishing. The one word I can't give to any of our backs is punishing. Once Matt gets back to his pre-virus weight, is he known as a punishing back? Mack definitely is not a punishing back.

It's so funny that you make this post, yet in another thread you don't seem to grasp the very same concept.

    Quality insight from Gatorstooth

I think the point here is clear: your logic changes whenever it's more conducive to negative commentary about UF.

I think it comes down to recruiting..Bama gets 2 top running backs every year..big running backs.. they continue to get top WR & DB's every year.. as well as on the line.. to be honest not sure it is even close to our classes the past 4 years? meaning while Will has been here.. not many of our pass plays are open.. its painful to get a compelted pass.. while Alabama has plays that are so wide open..

I think you should probably take a closer look at our OL before judging our RB's harshly. They were supposed to be our strength this season but appear to be more of a liability.
