Just watched awhile ago espn top worst plays and of course at the top and remains at the top is our guys blocking each other. I so wanted to put that out of my mind but there it was in living color two gators blocking each other. I really don't know if we will ever move out of that #1 spot.

Last year was imo the worst year of gator football ever. One play epitimized the entire sorry season. The good news is uf will never duplicate last year, yes it really was that awful. I am hoping last year truly motivates the team and coaches to redeem themselves. Hopefully, we can have the #1 best of the best play.

Well one thing that will help is not losing so many players to injury.

That's what I was thinking. If so many players had not been injured, then those two would have had the coaching and awareness to not block each other. ;)

Yeah unfortunately that play will never go away. It was the picture perfect play of our season.

At some point you realize the season's a bust and start doling out some memories, good or bad.

For better or for worse, I will always remember that play. And the final play of the GSU game...

Didn't we actually do that twice last season?

why is it more representative than, say, beating texas a&m, fsu, south carolina, etc.?

There was coaching issues last season but I'm not sure I'd blame the coaches for two guys blocking each other.

I'd say seeing Taylor get going was a positive but I know what your point was.

Dunbar, I think, accidentally tripped up Jones on a long run. Kentucky game, IIRC.

And then there's the Miami game.... At the beginning of the game, we went for two points (for some stupid reason) and two of our linemen blocked one guy, leaving another free to make the tackle. Sigh.....

ESPN can show it a million times and it doesn't affect me personally - I wasn't involved with the play. There are people who are directly affected, and perhaps their embarrassment will serve them well as motivation as they practice this Spring and work over the Summer. So remember it forever, but just maybe we'll remember it ultimately for it's positive impact over time than we will for the damage it did on that day (it was after all a first down).

As for any ridicule it exposes us to, who cares? We're the Gators. What fan base can stand in judgment of us? Our team made a mistake on one play in front of a camera. It was a badly executed play, but our representatives were hustling and playing their hearts out. What wasn't on the video? Our school/AD/coach covering up and protecting a rapist (FSU, Michigan). Or protecting a pederast (PSU). Or committing blatant academic fraud (FSU (again), Tennessee, UNC). Or looking the other way while star athletes scored huge amounts of illegal swag (USC, Duke, et. al.).

To use Muschamp's own words: you're only as good as your record says you are. Muschamp has had one successful season and two sub-par ones. Our offensive rankings in that time have been abysmal--offensive production in the 100s for three straight years. That is on the coaching staff.

We've had one subpar year, one really good year and then THE worst year in gator football imo. I would not describe last year as subpar, it was beyond awful.
