There is not a single ab workout in my program. Or rather not a single isolated ab exercise. We do squats, deadlifts, and hip thrust variations primarily for the legs. Upper body focus on bench press, overhead press and bentover row. The most engaged I ever feel my abs is when I do front squats.

Have her read this girl's story.

I'm guessing she's not starting where Staci started, but you can see by those after shots, Staci did not get "big" from lifting heavy weights. It's really hard for women to do that.

Sadly, most young women will only do bw leg workouts, treadmill and abs(crunches *cringe*)

Also I suggest pendlays over bent over rows. Feels much better to me although, they are not interchangeable, ofc

Thanks guys. I really appreciate it.

I just had another question dropped in my lap. My wife texted and wanted me to look at Bodybuilding.com and look into Monster Milk. She said one of the older boy's best friends and his Dad use it and she heard a lady at the pool talking about it. I looked and one of the first things I saw was that it contained Creatine. Now, we have always stayed away from Creatine because one of the ladies my wife teaches with, her husband had some health problems that his doctors put on Creatine. We know teammates of both of our boys have taken it but we have always just stayed away. What are your thoughts?

You should do your own research, but for me Creatine is A-OK. I haven't seen any proof of negative health hazards.

If taking supplements, I'd rank them as:
1a) Whey - if necessary to make macros.
    1b) Creatine
    2.) BCAAs

Additionally, I think everyone should take vitamin D and fish oil.

Most women at any age still think thats the way to go. Its like each one needs to be reprogrammed before they can make progress.

Exactly. Staci (blog I posted above), she gets it and you can't argue with those results.

Pay attention to strength, not the scale ladies.

I am not a fan of Monster Milk or Muscle Milk, overpriced crap imo. And creatine is totally safe but it will only provide marginal improvements. Here is a link with everything you need to know about it.
    http://examine.com/supplements/Creatine/

If you want a protein supplement I would recommend a bunch before Muscle Milk.

Yup, I have read her story before. Nerd Fitness is a good site, makes fitness more accessible for people. I think the founder is a Vandy grad.

Just wanted to pass this along and say thanks again for all the help and advice. The team did not do their normal morning workout today because they had pictures this afternoon. After pictures they were just going to do bench press and run. When he came in he said Coach said if the team went up a total of 40 pounds on the bench press they would not have to run. Then he got this big grin on his face. He went up 10 pounds today. So now he is at 205. That will get his name on the board. It actually puts him in a tie with a senior as the strongest wide receivers on the team. Needless to say he was very proud of that achievement.

Well, today is the day that I don't look forward too. We went tonight and did our last workout of the Summer together. We are going tomorrow to move the oldest son into the dorm. Already starting his 3rd year of college. SMH. Where does the time go?
