djam3 is Wolford.
Funny...I wish I had that much talent when I was his age.
Wolford plays in a way tougher league than Grier. Nor saying will is not a tremendous prospect because he is. What I am saying that Wolford,s physical measurables are not that important if you are converting to a spread upbeat offense
Didn't Aaron Murray turn out to be a hair over 6"?
3 Florida QB's that could get a look if we decide we need another one in this class
I think so. He's now listed at 6'1" which probably means they round up.
Wolford committed to Wake Forest. Like I said earlier in this thread I think that was the best place for him at this time. A coaching staff that has been successful with an undersized QB and he was their guy. Unlike Penn State where they wanted him for depth purposes.
Big miss on Wolford. But do think we need to look at a second QB for '14....from your previous posts, looks like Flowers (I like his speed) and Darlington are solid prosects but surprised that you wouldn't consider these guys "undersized" based on your previous comments. Also, looks like Darlington is early enroll in Lincoln.
I think they are all undersized. Which means you want them to have other traits to make up for that. Flowers has a cannon and could also play safety at the next level. I dont know if we need another prospect. I will leave that up to Muschamp. If Tyler is staying you don't need another QB you might want one though. I am sure the new OC will have his say
Agree, Will Grier looks very strong....but, Wolford came up against some strong defenses with highly prized prospects (like: Dillon Bates (TN), Jakob Johnson (TN), and CeCe Jefferson ('15 UF Hopeful)). So it will be it will be critical for him (assuming early enroll) to have a strong spring and get up to speed quick.
so should UF sign Kieth Reed from Miami Central since he plays against the best competition in the country? Grier should not have to start next year and he is an EE.
Absolutely not...while KR certainly plays against great competition, at 5'-10", wouldn't you consider him undersized? As I stated earlier, I think Grier looks like a strong prospect and I think he should be ready to compete for an opportunity to make an immediate impact. Having a strong spring w EE will only help him.
You made my point with your first comment. EEing will help but he needs to be on the bench year 1. This is the SEC we are talking about. It is Jeff's show next year
Actually, I think you just made my point...this is the SEC we are talking about....a strong spring (w EE) is essential for getting Grier ready to contribute and add value immediately (if needed).
As I said...ready to contribute and add value immediately (if needed)....Tyler Murphy transferring
Time for the gator coaches to go get john Wolford now
Take 2 qbs, with injuries you're one snap away from their starting.
Darlington might never play football again, got a couple really bad concussions and had to sit the whole year. Plus he's committed to Nebraska, and they were going to honor his scholarship even if he couldn't ever play again. Doubt he would go any where else.
Agree 100% We need to TRY to get Wolford asap.....may be too late. The coach he plays for and the coaches he has played against have all stated that he is the real deal....they have all sent elite players to top D1 programs...they can't all be wrong. Also, CeCe Johnson (5 Star '15 Gator hopeful): "In my three years of playing, he's the best player I've been against." See attached from Jax Times Union....TU SUPER 24 Player of the year!
I think we should offer him. Don't think he would accept as he has better opportunity to play at wake!
