Turnovers aren't a brand new thing, ever since DCs figured out our gimmicks they've become a constant problem- 13 in the last 6 BCS conference games.

I realize the levels of competition differ and the talent around them differs, but Grier is going to likely throw more TDs in the first half of his Senior season than Jeff threw in his entire HS career.

Right Grier is throwing bubble screens for TD's against kids that couldn't even make JV football teams and some large schools in Florida

If we had Percy and Hernandez, we would be scoring 30 a game again

Muschamp is too D oriented he needs to let up on the offensive side of things or he could be gone.

The crazy thing is I seem to recall Muschamp's mentor, Saban, hitting some big plays to his TE's from 09-11. I think they had a kid named Peek who was from Florida and then a kid named Michael Williams, and their coordinator McElwain did a great job of using them to burn defenses in the passing game.

Was that the gameplan? That's the question in this thread. Will the GAMEPLAN change?

My point is I dont want the gameplan to change. I want the EXECUTION of the gameplan to change.

The main concern is that the personnel are unable to execute the game plan, and this is not the first time it has happened. Further concern is that better schools will be able to exploit this weakness, resulting in losses.

Muschamp's philosophy is to be physical and win games. That's it. He isn't an inherently conservative coach. A conservative coach wouldn't have gone for 2 against Miami.

But that's not the subject of this thread. The subject here is will the philosophy change if/when Grier arrives.

My point is that the philosophy does not need to change if he is a better executor of the philosophy.

A QB properly executing our philosophy would have led us to a 2 touchdown win and the best passing day in 3 years on Saturday.

I'm going to ass-u-me that Grier is leading an offense that has a bit more structure than Haggerty's snap and run. If so; he is getting reps throwing the ball downfield from inside a pocket, being coached about progressions and reads and all of the other nuances that exist at the QB position.

These are all things that Jeff Driskel did not get during his high school career.

This is the problem when prospects are ranked purely on height, arm strength and foot speed. I hope the so-called experts are evaluating Grier differently than Driskel.

I see part of the philosophy as being stubborn and unable to eliminate mistakes. As well as being unable to develop offensive talent. For some reason the current coaching philosophy has been leading to poorly executed offensive play. I do not think that will change. I think Grier will be used much like Driskill, except with less quarterback sneaks. The focus will still be a running game with short yardage passes. Grier will likely not make as many critical interceptions. We will do well and win many games. Once we face an elite team we will fall behind in points and lose. We probably wont make an SEC championship game or the new playoffs. We will have a better chance than we do now though just because our passing game will be less damaging to ourselves.
