Exactly right. Dunbar should be universally praised for his effort. Jones ended up almost falling ON a wildcat, so there's no doubt in my mind he woulda ended up getting caught.

Dunbar was damned close to turning that into a TD that wouldn't have happened otherwise.

Does it bother anyone else that our starting RB was gassed on a 70-yard run? Theoretically, RBs should be able to take a handoff from 1 and take it the whole way, if need be.

I must be the only one that thinks that Jones wasn't going to score either way. He was going to get caught by #3

Dunbar has always been fast. It was why he was getting hyped as a RS freshman.

Jones went down at the 12 yard line. I don't know why some are convinced he couldn't have made it the final 12 yards to the end zone. He was angling away from the pursuit.

Maybe he would have been caught. Maybe not. It would have been nice to find out if he could have made it.

Dunbar was clearly trying to block the KY. guy, but I think he misjudged his speed relative to Matt's, leading to the contact. I don't think Jones would have scored, but I think he would have gained at least five more yards.

Clay Burton tackled Driscoll in the UT game as well.

Good point on the TOP aspect of it. Tackling your own player may be part of the playbook to increase our TOP.

Actually that was in the Miami game so that's three games in a row.

Plus if you rewatch the long Jones run, you see a pulling Harrison completely wipe out Solomon Patton. Surprised he didn't get hurt.

He's still not 100% from his virus that had him in the hospital and lost a ton of weight.

I remember when people would say the same thing about Rainey because he always got caught from behind. When you are setting up blocks, accelerating through the hole, and trying to outrun defensive backs who are 40 pounds lighter and ordinarily somewhat faster, it tends to take something out of you.

It wasn't textbook tackle, but it was a good effort by Dunbar. (At least Jones didn't fumble)
