Will we tackle our own player against Arkansas?

We now have a two game streak going, where we tackle one of our own players heading for a TD.

Easley tackled Cummings against UT. Being a lumbering DT, a Vol might have eventually tackled Cummings before the goal line.

Dunbar tackled Jones against UK. This one was especially bad, because no Wildcat was going to catch him before he crossed the goal line.

How will we do it against Arkansas?

    (Have fun with this one.)

I think Dunbar should be VERY careful in practice this week.

What shocked me more than anything even with the Dunbar tackle, it was amazing to me how fast he caught up to Jones. Kid's got wheels, I know he was trying to help Jones but I was more impressed with the speed.

I also think Jones is a little slow. It looked like the UK defenders were going to catch him anyway.

Lol, Cummings would have never had enough in the "tank" to make the goal line. But, I guess he could have handed the ball off to another Gator.

Dunbar can motor, but MJ looked like he was running the last 100 yards of an Ultra Marathon :)

It's in our playbook. We just want to run extra clock time, you noticed we scored after both of those plays.

I've replayed it on DVR a few times and Jones would have been caught before the endzone. Dunbar looked liked an F-16 catching up with a DC-3.

Agree on the Dunbar burst on the screen...I had to make sure it was him

What was he doing running backwards at the end?

Wasn't it a big deal when he tore off like a sub-4.4 before his RS freshman season? He's just one of those guys who hasn't quite played as fast as he really is.

He tore it up on that screen, though. It was nice to see that.

Maybe. Maybe not. Either way, that's two weeks in a row that we took out one of our players running toward the goal line.

Hopefully, we don't make it three in a row. :)

Dunbar's tackle, and the UK fake kick, were the plays of the game.

Last week it was on defense, this week it was on offense, so next week it has to be special teams.

I'm thinking that this week it will be one of our DBs who tackles a LB by mistake. Just for fun...... I think Taylor makes the pick and is sailing down the sidelines when Purifoy comes flying up field to help him celebrate and steps on his heel sending him flying out of bounds at the 5 yard line.

Jones was fading fast down the stretch there. He may have been able to get past the UK defender angling towards him on the left, but it is by no means a given that he would have scored. Personally, I think he would have been tackled in a few more yards. It was a heads up attempt by Dunbar to cut behind Jones to try to block that UK guy. Unfortunately he just barely clipped Jones' foot. If he successfully cuts across, makes the block, and escorts Jones into the endzone then we're praising his awareness. It was close enough to being a good play that I'll refrain from lampooning him. I like the effort.
