I believe he had a 99yd TD run from scrimage last night if What I read this morning was correct.
I would guess he redshirts next season. As good as he is he's probably not making it above third on the depth chart.
Lol and whose going to be 2nd......
He is throwing a lot of ints too.
And he's still better than our backups
Murphy or Staver?
Are u comfortable with those two QBs ?
we dont really have a choice
I know. My point was directed at the guy that said grier wouldn't make it 3rd on the depth chart. I see no reason as to why he can't be 2nd as a freshman. I honestly hope he doesn't need to play and redshirts, but I think he's already better than all the QBs we have right now except driskel. Driskel has all the physical tools but just hasn't been able to put it all together. Hopefully he finishes out the year strong and finally breaks out as a senior
Grier will make his way to the two quickly. The kid is ridiculously good. Smart, humble, solid arm, good coaching... He's got everything you want in a qb, from what I've read/seen. I'm excited to see him in orange and blue.
The learning curve and speed of the game is really steep from where he played in high school to what he will face in the SEC. I have been on record since we recruited them that I think all of the back ups suck but I can see a 5th year player like Murphy beating out Grier for the back up job.
That's respectable. Murphy would be the only QB I could see above him besides driskel. I'm trying to temper my expectations for Grier because driskel was just as talented....if not more talented than grier is coming outta high school. Driskel has all the makings of a heisman QB from the neck down. It's what's above that's hendering his progress. He struggles with progressing through reads, diagnosing blitzes, knowing when to get out of the pocket and throw the ball away, and being able to recognize a busted coverage for a long pass down the field. He lacks the mental aspect of football. If he were to ever get that down he could go in the first 4 rounds of the draft. All that being said I think grier has the mental aspect down and just needs to add weight. But we really won't know where he's at until he gets here. He'll either end up 2nd or 3rd by the end of his freshman year with Murphy being the only QB that can finish above him
I am not going to get into a Driskel argument peolpe say a lot of thinga about him that just are not fair. He would look a lot better if he had elite talent on offense around him which he does not, but we really dont have a clue of how far along Grier will be when he gets to UF. I dont think people understand how bad his competition is in high school and how that impacts his decision each down.
My sister went to Davidson, so I know a little about the town. I think a good comparison would be Oak Hall School in Gainesville. Brantley was all world at Trinity Catholic, and I think that his competition was probably better than Will Grier's at Davidson Day right now.
Competition at oak hall is not existent or at least used to be.

Never put Grier and Brantley in the same sentence before we see Grier on the field. Somehow it's tarnishing my hope for Grier by you doing so!
I dont really think people understand how bad these kids are at football. You could probably take all the best kids that Davidson plays on a team together put them vs Miami Central and Central would still beat them by 60.
You're probably right. I think most understand he will have a HUGE learning curve. I'd just rather not have his name associated with one that couldn't make the transition.
Sure what? If u don't care for my post don't even respond
