    1. There is nothing more to accomplish in Alabama
    2. Every year it is NC or bust at Alabama
    3. Alabama has some serious questions at QB next year
4 Auburn returns almost everybody next year
    5. Alabama will lose multiple games next year
6 One of those games will be to UF
    7. Texas is still the best job in America
    8. $$$$
9 The chance to win NC at 3 different schools

    10. Alabama

I'd be more surprised if Saban led Bama loses to UF next year than if UF goes 13-1 with an NC.

I just assume that if Saban says yes they will tell him to retire

Yeah you're probably right. You think we'll beat Bama?

Point Number 1 is the reason he should have left last year for a different post. There is absolutely nothing left for him to do and generally people like Saban don't like to do the same thing over and over again. Life is about checklists and challenges and there aren't many things left at Alabama.

As a Texas grad, I would be thrilled. As a UF grad, I would be thrilled as I think a slightly easier SEC is a good thing (plus a stronger Auburn is good for UF since UGA has to play them every year). That said, for some reason I don't think he makes the move and I don't know what that reason is. Maybe he has a different personality than I think.

He'll probably "retire." Texas fans have wanted him gone for years, the AD retiring was widely seen as a prelude to Mack stepping aside, and their whopping 10 points against Baylor yesterday burned up much of the good will that he had built over the year.

The biggest reason is Auburn is back. If there's one program out there that is willing to do anything and everything to beat Bama is Auburn. These are likely the two most corrupt, win at all cost programs in the history of college ball, and they hate each other. Now Auburn has a coach that Saban cannot run circles around, and their boosters will go to any length to keep up with Bama, particularly knowing they got away with the Cam Newton deal.

Saban might not want this cutthroat environment at this stage of his career. At Texas he will be the undisputed king of the conference.

    1. There's a lot more to accomplish. He can go down as the greatest coach in the history of the game.
    2. It will be the same way at Texas if he wins one there.
    3. Questions? Sure. But plenty of talent and experience return.
    4. Saban doesn't care about Auburn or what they're doing.
    5. That's possible, but they're still capable of winning every game.
    6. I think you're right. I think we beat them.
    7. So what? Saban's done alright at Alabama.
    8. I think Saban's reached the point where money ain't a thang anymore.
    9. Not sure he really cares about something like that.

Isn't a national title or bust mentality a good thing. Better than we made a bowl mentality.

Alabama is just a better football state with the rings to show for it. So it is easier to win a title there even with an SEC schedule than at Texas who hasn't exactly done more than be a money maker.

Rumors here in Texas are that Sumlin has yet to sign his extension because of the Texans job opening.

It kills me that certain fans lay awake at night praying for Saban to leave because they know deep down their team will probably never consistently beat them. Sad. F that. I want him in the SEC and I want UF to maul Bama someday again.

If anything, Saban has more of a clean slate next year. He will change his offense to suit the players he has. Also Bama fans are fine with the outcome this year simply because they feel they beat Auburn and that Bama beat Bama. The dozens of Bama fans I've talked to all know this was the last year for a year or 2 before they come back.

If Texas cans Brown for having an 8-4 season and playing in the Big 12 championship, then what does that say about the expectations placed on the new HBC?

I've read from multiple sources over the years that Saban has an absurd amount of real estate debt (~$200 million). How true that is I don't know. If the move to Texas involved getting that debt taken care of, then I think that is as good of a reason as any to bolt for Texas. And its not like Texas has to immediately write a check for that amount either. That is a problem that can be taken care of over time.

We are going to beat Bama with or without Saban next year but I think he has to consider leaving for the reasons I listed
