And that's your view, and that's fine. Here's how I reconcile it. As a Christian, unborn children are innocent in my eyes. They've done nothing wrong and are defenseless in the womb. A serial killer like Danny Rolling, or other murderers, did the crime and should pay the ultimate price for it. Even the Bible has people so bad and beyond salvation that God destroyed them. And if my view is wrong, He will let me know when I die and I'll pay penance accordingly. But at least that's how I reconcile the two. Again, your view may differ and as each has their own Faith/Belief System.

Better make sure he doesn't get the wrong one (skink). Jacked my grandmother's dog up for life.

Do you not have faith that God can dispense proper justice on his own?

Of course I do. I also feel that God has a purpose for all of us and that sometimes He dispenses His justice and carries out His will via His children. Again, though, that's just my Faith talking. Your views may vary, and are your own.

It's all good. Just playing Devil's advocate.

Again, my views are not based on compassion for killers, just a system that can't provide me with enough of a safety net for those who are wrongly accused/convicted.

No, not bad- I am not one that holds contempt (well maybe for the abortion folks) because my view is what it is. I changed on this on 2010 so I was 58 years old when I got this way.

Just a personal feeling on life--all of it

I can relate. Though I do try to protect the lizard occassionally...

My 5 year old was holding a good size one the other day and it jumped for the side of the house coming up short of the wall...Snook took advantage of the mistake and I am pretty sure it did not survive based on the injuries inflicted by the time I removed it from his grip.

And you gotta love the tangents on this board. Only on GC does a Death Penalty thread evolve into a "dogs catching lizards" thread :D:D:D:D:D:D:cool:

Used to have a pet iguana. He was pretty cool. Ate lettuce or hibiscus flowers. I named him "Dr. Forbes"

The ones at our beach house in PR loved eating the mangoes that fell from the trees. It was funny watching them run for it when they fell off the tree, though....the chickens thought they were eggs, too, so they'd sit there nesting on them. LOL

I don't think this thread can every be steered back on topic now, but who cares? Iguanas are a lot more fun than serial killers.

my sister in law in pompano hates them. apparently now that they're part of the wildlife down there, they hang around the pool and take immense dumps. she despises them, but she'd never hurt one. chases them off with a broom. LOL

I think all Komodo Dragons should face the death penalty.

I would happily assist with a BAR.

These threads spawn better tangents than the "living breathing document" better known as the Constitution...
