I wish all Yanks felt like you did.
Stay the hell up North where the weather is nicer. I tell all the Northerners it's way too hot and humid in Florida year round, to stay put and enjoy real good weather. You wouldn't like it here.
Appears as though Atlanta is not overly fond of the white stuff.
They're not prepared for it either. Also - that area is likely to get water and ice.
i was born in southern california. at a realllllly young age we were transferred to florida. til i moved up here i'd never seen four seasons, or felt a real chill in the air, much less snow. i still feel wonderment watching the different seasons pass, i still find the beauty of fall amazing, the wide range of pastels in the spring gorgeous, and snow.....it's still fun..we still build snowmen, have snowball fights...and it's peaceful just to watch it snow out the window...
this year, though, it's passed to the east, west, north, and now south of us. i'm frustrated, lol.
Did you see the model that shows 10"-12" of snow in Kentucky next Wednesday?
i saw it, then the weather channel taketh away!!!! but that doesn't mean anything i guess. sometimes they say we'll be buried and we get nothing. was that for west central (crossing fingers)
its' been cold, but (alas) lol, no snow.
where'd you see it?????
It was in a blog of the local (Lexington) NBC weather guy. He has since said that it is much more likely to be rain and some ice.
yeah, weather.com finally updated us, they say there are 3 chances of 'something'. nothing major. of course, watch 'em be wrong, the opposite of that one recently that was supposed to dump 8 inches on us, and instead did nothing.
there was one time we were living in eastern ky, and they had forecast thunderstorms, it was very very early spring. i was watching the radar, and seeing the temps, and i told my kids, nope, there's gonna be snow tonight. the local channels were even calling for thunderstorms...but we ended up no thunderstorms and five inches of snow.
we've been so snow-free this weekend, i feel deprived
but it has been REAL cold this winter....
the weather channel giveth and it taketh away, lol
Appropriately stolen from the "Funny Picture" thread -
Don't you live in st Augustine it gets pretty cold versus other cities in Florida.
looking outside my front door early morning last weekend.
My daughter is away to college and I am here shoveling snow with more on the way.
Can I make a change in my take? It isn't fun anymore.
it was snowing when i took that pic. powder snow, covered up our footprints...
but spring is on the way. low 60s in a week. or so they say....
