IMO, the biggest part in Hussein getting re-elected was simple.

Low information voters. Obama owns them and it showed. Add in the dolts who still think he is a godsend--bingo, Obama wins and anyone else running loses. Just shows how gullible and incredibly stupid the country was as a whole.

Yeah, you NEED to believe that. The GOP has no ideas but to try the same tried and true George Dubya Bush plan again that no one sane wants.

Oh I agree. I wasn't downplaying my desire for jet packs on the gator's uniforms or the need for threads to facilitate and expedite that happening each offseason.

In both elections, Obama was clearly the better choice of the 2 major candidates. That is why I voted for him.

Voted for "Barry" in 08, and Green Party in 12

I voted initially for him because I thought he would be more liberal than he has proven to be. He, like most presidents, are corporatists first and foremost (but that is also a reflection of our legalized bribery of officials to get them elected). Like OBOB said, economically speaking, there just isn't much difference between the major parties. They work for big money special interests. His election has taught me that more than anything, which is why I laugh when conservatives truly believe "hope and change" is on the way.

There are things I like, and things I don't like, but the things I don't like, are coming generally from a position of him not being liberal enough for me.....which is funny considering how Conservatives believe he is the second coming of Marx.

Overall though, he was the preferred candidate over any (R) candidate. You neither get fiscal responsibility of social liberalism with the R Party, at least with the (D), you get the social side.

Why was he the better choice, I held my nose when I voted for McCain (it was an anti socialism vote) and I held my nose again when I voted for Romney (also an anti socialism vote).

I liked Obama at first going back to his speech at the 2004 convention. Thought, hey we have a "unifier" for our country. Then out came Rev Wright, Bill Ayres, Rezco, etc. Then I knew. His mentors, his sketchy history (grades, income, community org, etc), his Associations all spelled bad news.

We, as a Nation, brought this mess down upon ourselves.

Simply because the positions he holds are more agreeable to me than the positions either McCain or Romney held. In particular on taxes and spending, but also on social issues. And with McCain, I simply did not trust him to run our foreign policy. McCain just seems like a loose cannon to me. Romney would have been a better choice than McCain, but again due to economic and social issues, I favored Obama.

Went Barr in 2008 and Johnson in 2012.

People vote Democrat because they're scared of the Republicans and vice versa. Mouth pieces fuel the hate and fear. Meanwhile, the special interests that buy both sides laugh all the way to the bank and nothing ever changes.

There's a reason why 90% of the posts on this forum are negative attacks on the other guys, rather than anything positive about their own. Manipulation and distraction.

I doubt it. I mean, voting for the next D or R nominee that holds more or less the same exact positions as the last guy makes such a thing pointless.

It was easy for me - "fundamental transformation of this Country". That ruled out Obama no matter what. The greatest country in the world and only superpower should not be led by someone who thinks there should be such drastic change in the core. Anyone who voted for Obama, especially in 2012, simply refuses to acknowledge this as his agenda and by continuing to support him are tacitly in favor of fundamental change. However, knowing the liberal mind as well as I do, most voted for Obama simply due to blind party loyalty.
