Odd to have rules of warfare eh? What if they had the people they wish to kill line up and cut their throats one by one... would it be any less ugly, or the people less dead?

I'm asking a rhetorical question. 80-100 K people are killed and that is not a redline but 500 more get killed by chemicals and now we have to kick us some arab ass. What were the 80 K who got killed...chopped camel liver?

I've asked this before, but are you unfamiliar with the concept of civil war?

EZ. Chemical weapons is only 2 words, hence sound-bite-able.

I don't see much difference between a drone or something like a cruise missile. If anything a drone is more moral because there is a human making the decision as to the appropriateness of the target right up until the very end.

A missile is an extension of the gun, of the bullet. The drone is an extension of the soldier. There's a pretty clear difference.

In Syria it's because Obama said so.

It's been a "red line" for decades in the International community.

    I don't understand the distinction.

I'm leaning back toward doing nothing. And if we do something, air drop both sides ammo and camel food and let them duke it out.

Yep, that was my solution (except for the camel food) for Bosnia. Man them both equally, close down the borders and let them either come to the conclusion that wiping out the other isn't a viable plan or let them wipe each other out. Either way is okay.

No more American treasure or blood should be shed in this region unless Israel is attacked or Iran proves they have a viable nuke. And if the second, we send no ground troops, only missiles and bunker busters dropped from 50,000 ft.

These camel jockeys have been scrapping and fighting each other for 1,000 years and we ain't going to stop it.

It is a little screwy. It's almost like people would have felt better about Hitler had he merely starved Jews to death rather than quickly killing them with gas.
