I think Jack will bide his time in the pros for a year or two with Denver, and then hope for another head coaching gig with the NFL. He's in a good spot.

Petrino would probably have the best offense known to man over at USC with all of that talent. They will probably try to take a run at Chris Peterson and then James Franklin.

I just don't get what the attraction to Del Rio is and how he could be any where near the top of any list. Yep I know he played at USCw but that's it. He would be far from a homerun hire.

fwiw, there has been some talk that Chris Peterson believes Boise has hit it's ceiling and he may now be ready to make the move to a bigger program. If true SC might just be it.

No, he is not that was a rumor several years ago but is absolutely false. I think there was a famous author with the same name that was a scientologist and that is where the rumor started.

If Texas can't have Muschamp who they chose eons ago ... Next best thing with close to the same pedigree is Kirby Smart. That's who I hope they go after. Bama has finally taken some coaching hits and it's starting to show a little ... losing Kirby would be a blow.

Foreclosure for Kiffin? Report out there that Kiffin has a contractual loan on his pricey mansion, which USC can call.

Peterson to USC. Boom to Texas. Briles or Strong to UF.

No one of consequence to Baylor or Boise or Louisville.

Haden and USC have to make a safe hire in terms of character after the Kiffin debacle, so Petrino would almost certainly not be a candidate.

Perhaps USC and Texas will get into a bidding war for the services of Saban.....

Well the rumors from UT are that 4 coaches were offered. Saban was offered 8mil/year and has a Dec 1 deadline to accept. Shaw, Boom, and 1 other were supposedly offered 5 mil/yr. Also says their staff would be highest paid. I really hope Texas left a bitter taste in Boom's mouth and he stays put.

Can you imagine the Offense that Briles could put on the field if he came to UF. (Disclaimer) I am in no way saying that I don't like what we have as a head coach.

I read where James Franklin could be the man.

Petrino would be the best hire possible for them imo. Petrino and his QB development/supervision, paired with the California QB talent pool is a truly frightening thought. Too bad Haden doesn't have the guts to make it happen.

Del Rio would be a bad hire imo. Now Sarkisian or James Franklin....I can see either one working out well.

USC is not desperate enough to hire Petrino. They are a 1 yet fixit job. Pat Haden or any good AD will not risk their jobs on a sketchy character like Petrino.

Petrino will have to go to time out for a few more years before a good school will give him a shot. Hell, he may be too old by that time however. I have no idea who they will hire. I think Del Rio makes a lot of sense, but I just don't see him leaving the NFL at this point. His tenure with Denver will make him look like he knows what he's doing, and another NFL team will give him another chance. Maybe Philadelphia after they dump Chip Kelly.

Somebody will hire Petrino eventually....but I can't see it being Pat Haden. Given the shady character of their last two coaching regimes, I think Haden will insist on somebody who is squeaky clean.
