I actually like yardwork so the money I save there I pay my accountant.
    At least since 1998.

same accountant since 1990, not far off from Bill and Ray.

But...I have a drawer I toss all my receipts in. I also created spreadsheets for the categories and after the end of the year I organize all the crap into categories and then transfer the data onto ledgers. After collecting all the 1099's, W2's and interest on Mortgages, taxes paid, charitable contributions (that official stuff) the accountant decides if we owe anything or are getting $ back. I get the minimum to the accountant and we file for an extension and then finalize by the fall's October deadline.

It costs me a fortune. They save me a ton of money. I'd rather spend two days compiling and organizing then enter stuff all year long. I have spreadsheets for meals, gas, auto repair, gifts, travel expenses, charitable contributions etc.

This year I'm anxious to see how it all changes...
