The fact that we don't have Jeff run more when that's probably his greatest asset perplexes me.

People keep worrying about injury but how often do great running QBs actually get hurt in college football?

Driskell wasn't the only problem. Running game averaged less than 3 yards per carry.

He still doesn't have a line.

Jeff came from a young HS program that was in its third or fourth year of competition. I don't know much about the coaching he received, but my impression of his high school play was that he was the best athlete on the field and made more plays with his legs.

His freshman year, in my opinion, was a complete waste. I would blame Weis and Muschamp for that.

Time is running out for him to make the strides necessary to leave any kind of a mark here.

    In a word, no.

The question in my mind is how prepared will Grier be when he shows up next year.

Kind of like the Chris Leak thing.Leak was a drop back passer who was forced to run a spread,JD is a spread Qb being forced to be a pocket passer.....

Grier plays in a pass happy offense against weak high school competition. He won't play next year unless Murphy and Driskel hurt.

The offense has many problems, but Driskel is at the center of all of them.

This a BS thread, pass blocking was great a majority of the game. JD can't read a defense still

I'm just worried about his lack of progression. He looks like a true freshman QB out there. With a good true freshman, you can see their talent but they make poor decisions and reads while having flashes of good plays here and there. That is exactly how Jeff plays.

I don't know if we blame him or the coaches for his lack of progression, but a Junior QB should have a much better feel for the game.

    Driskel, Moore, Garcia...and others.
How about the folks left in charge to coach them?

Jeff can throw when his first option is open and he knows exactly where the ball should be thrown seconds after the snap. He seems to lack any kind of playmaking ability when his first couple of options are not there.

When was the last time you saw Jeff escape a collapsing pocket and make a play downfield on a broken play?

    The great QBs do that.

Driskel's decision making is a huge question mark for me.

I see an improvement from last year to this, but he is pretty much topped out. He is an average QB. Won't win a title with him but he isn't the guy he replaced so at least he has that going for him

As a coach the qb is responsible for the weak side linebacker or blitz Driskel is oblivious to the W lb or blitz

Driskel stares the receivers down like they owe him money

JD still has a lot of up-side, there's more than enough blame to go around on this one.

As is his pocket awarness, the speed at which he moves through his progression, his ability to adjust at the line...
