I don't think Max Garcia made a single block all game. I know we've had injuries, however, our O-Line is really bad. I was hoping that would be a team strength but it is not at all. Miami was rushing 3 and getting to Jeff. Not good.

It wasn't really lack of time - it was decision making.

There were times he had five or more seconds to work with. Although our o line is far from perfect, they are in no way shape or form to blame for Driskel's struggles. Just like the WR's last year, they are simply an indictment of how crappy our QB play has been recently. The guy is a physical specimen, with all the tools to be a top notch QB. He has more natural physical gifts than any of his predecessors, yet plays the worst (ok, second worst, brantley still takes the cake).

Jeff is not going to take us to the promised land. I had hoped we would see a different QB this year, but let's not fool ourselves, after two games, he is what he is.

piss poor play. Defense played great for 3 quarters but acted like thugs. We are an undisciplined team with a below average QB. So much for our vaunted running attack against a dline with no depth. Gonna be a long season.

I thought Moore was a far bigger problem than Garcia. That said, pass protection really wasn't the issue.

This is why we pounded the ball so much last year. Jeff is a liability. Lets go back to that. When he has more chances he turns it over. I blame the message boards for putting pressure on pease and Jeff to be exciting lol

Moore was awful, just awful, could not pass or run block. A handful of Gators lost this game today by poor execution, loafing and stupidity. I feel bad for guys like Dunbar and Easley who constantly performed at a high level while our JUNIOR QB looked like a Vanderbilt scout team scrub.

Our Freshman DB didn't let the bright lights scare him, yet our junior QB still fears the pressure.

Jeff needs more feeling in the pocket. He spent zero time in High School staying in the pocket. This is not surprising. Watch his reel. He just rolls out on every play because he had no line.

Exactly, he had plenty of time, just no clue

While I do not think Driskell is horrible. He can take a snap, run and pass a little. He manages the offense for a while but eventually he just implodes the offense and it all goes down the drain. He seems to do this over and over again.

Why we don't roll him out is beyond me

    This.

I only caught the second half today but from what I did see Driskel needs to work on his pocket awareness. Not being from Florida I have no idea how bad his HS o-line was but today I saw times where simply stepping up into the pocket would have allowed him to get a throw off and at worst wouldn't have gifted them a fumble in our redzone. Just overall trash execution and while some of that can be blamed on lack of protection your QB is your leader and Jeff certainly wasn't leading by example today. The good thing is all his faults are coachable but as he's a junior you'd expect to see better at this point. Maybe we need a new QB coach because since Tebow left we haven't had much luck at that position despite guys having all the tools to succeed.

Is there a QB we can turn to, or is the gulf that far between what we saw today and the backup QBs?

He is the best option we have. He also did do some good things today with his legs, but the fumbles and INT's the last two weeks are not good neither was his clock management at the end of the game. We looked like UF vs GA with the turnovers and UF vs Louisville with the lack of urgency at the end. Also why in the heck did we not attempt the hurry up at the beginning of the 4th and play from ahead?????

Are you referring to the DB that gave up the long TD pass in the first quarter?

Reality is not your friend, Driskel played poorly and turned it over, so did Burton, so did Jones. Turnovers, especially 5 in one game will kill any team. The offense as a unit lost this game!

It's Great to be a Florida Gator!

Agree. Then he can run or pass. Options are a good thing. He rolled out a few times today but once he had to rush his pass as Garcia whiffed on a block again. But to his credit, he wasn't holding the guy so that was positive.

Driskel is the only problem. Well most of it anyways.
