    Interesting quiz.
It will give a good read on where you stand in the political spectrum!

So, you think you know where you stand, politically. Think again.

The result from this short test may surprise you and give you some food for thought.

You'll be asked just 10 questions and then it instantly tells you where you stand politically. It shows your position as a red dot on a "political map" so you'll see exactly where you score.

The most interesting thing about the Quiz is that it goes beyond the Democrat, Republican and Independent.

The Quiz has gotten a lot of praise. The Washington Post said it has "gained respect as a valid measure of a person's political leanings." The Fraser Institute said it's "a fast, fun and accurate assessment of a person's overall political views." Suite University said it is the "most concise and accurate political quiz out there."

I am on the border of Libertarian and Left.

    Left.....no surprise

Liberals usually embrace freedom of choice in personal matters, but tend to support significant government control of the economy. They generally support a government-funded "safety net" to help the disadvantaged, and advocate strict regulation of business. Liberals tend to favor environmental regulations, defend civil liberties and free expression, support government action to promote equality, and tolerate diverse lifestyles.

Liberals do not advocate for freedom. I got unalloyed libertarian. But the quiz is inadequate as it assumes a significant role for a central government.

Libertarians support maximum liberty in both personal and economic matters. They advocate a much smaller government; one that is limited to protecting individuals from coercion and violence. Libertarians tend to embrace individual responsibility, oppose government bureaucracy and taxes, promote private charity, tolerate diverse lifestyles, support the free market, and defend civil liberties.

I thought I'd be centrist because I've always considered myself more center or moderate. Use to be regulations on the environment, business and financial were to preserve our resources and lands and prevent bubbles and collapses of banks and other financial institutions, etc. Now notions like that are considered far left. I'm not criticizing this survey but it tells me we've moved far right in thinking preserving our environment and protecting our financial stability is a far left kind of idea.

It used to be a view supported by Republicans......wasn't it Nixon who started the EPA?

If wanting to preserve our nation's beauty, clean air and water is "liberal" then so be it.

The entire test is flawed by its definitions of "conservative", "libertarian" and "liberal".

I filled it out several times in order to find out what were considered to be the 100% positions.

I know of NO conservative who wants anything to do with a national ID card, yet to be 100% conservative you must be in favor of it.

Most conservatives dislike free trade because it sends American jobs overseas. I personally want trade restricted and believe in "buy American" That is a Conservative position, NOT a "libertarian" one.

In fact, the whole "libertarian" position is an invention of the left designed to drive a wedge in Conservatism between economic and socio-cultural factors. A TRUE conservative is socially conservative, yet wants certain behaviors and vices restricted. I want drug laws STRENGTHENED and that does not make me LESS conservative (or more statist). Relaxation of drug laws is as libertarian as it gets. This poll says that a true conservative wants drug laws relaxed.

I am 100% in agreement with the text version of the Conservative definition, but the questions come out differently. The test is flawed.

No they really haven't recently......gone the way of corporatism. The EPA has been gutted. Any movement now to protect clean air or water is from the little people who are directly effected.

Not that the EPA ever did much for the environment. Arguably just made it worse. Read Philip K. Howard's Death Of Common Sense in this regard. He's a former Clinton operative.

nothing wrong with proper protections but it ahs swung way too far and the regulations are not properly enforced. There were plenty of rules in place that would have prevented the gulf oil spill but the gubmnt employees paid to enforce them di not do so but everybody neglects to include their complicity in the problem, just write more rules and make more regulations.

surely you jest. The EPA is more active than ever. See CO2 rules, methane rules, and try and get a permit to impact a isolated wetland somewhere that the cows used to wallow around in the mud. The EPA has not been gutted, it is in attack mode on several fronts
