I feel like we haven't been 100% strong this entire season and that the SEC tournament is a grueling series of games day after day after day. I think we need to lose early so we can rest up for the tournament since we have the outright SEC Championship on lock anyway. What do you guys think?

I don't think we should lose from here till the end of the bb season. We may but it's not my desire to do so.

I understand where you are coming from. I just don't want an injuries and SEC play is rough in that tournament. Every team will be gunning for us since we'll be #1. I don't think it's worth it.

No offense, but I will never pull for the Gators to lose a game. It just ain't in me.

Hate to lose any, but I wouldn't be put out if we won the first but lost on Saturday. Means an extra day of rest.

Double bye gives us plenty of rest. So losing in the tourney is just not something you should want. SEC regular season Sec tourney win, final four.

    That's the goals baby.

How many days between the SEC tourney championship and the start of the ncaa T?

    We need some rest.

SEC final is on Sunday. NCAA sub-region in Orlando (UF's likely destination) starts on Thursday. Not much turnaround.

Tourney champs generally do better in the tourney it seems...going into the tournament hot seems a good thing.

I think playing on Sunday then Thursday in the tourney is a good time frame. We probably would play on Friday as well so plenty of time to rest. I'd rather that then a longer layoff.

Teams rarely go on a long streak into the tourney and win it all. I saw a stat ESPN put on there but it was for undefeated teams. I wouldn't mind losing one game before the SEC tourney, then go on another streak and cut down the nets.

Didn't the o6/07 teams win both the SEC Tournaments and NCAA Tournaments? Compete and win is always better than losing.

I think two years ago Uconn went through the Big East tourney( which was extremely tough) played all the games, that crazy OT game and then kept the momentum into the the national championship. Not too worried about our guys, just win.

People are expressing a certain amount of superstition here. Losing one game in a specific situation doesn't make the Gators more likely to win in another. It is entirely possible for a great team to win out from this point on. Losing one game between now and the NCAA tournament does not make a great team better. This is a great, great team, better defensively, more mature and steadier than either of our previous NC teams. It may have helped those younger teams to drop a few of those late non-tounament teams but this team doesn't need it and won't benefit from it. And it's preposterous to think that losing a game improves our luck in the tournament. This isn't craps. It's basketball.
