"This will be the high point of my day. It's all downhill from here."
- American Beauty
I so love the Caribbean.
St. Martin got leveled. One of the worst hit islands.
We cruise the BVI every few years. Was going to go again this Dec, but may put it off till Dec '19.
Are you a paddler / whitewater enthusiast, mh2os?
Hana Hawaii - If my time was limited I think that is where I would want to spend it.
Kenai peninsula Alaska - Fishing, wildlife, scenery, cool during the summer. Will be visiting again in June
Mo'orea Tahiti - Only spent 4 nights there but loved the island. Much easier to get to than Bora Bora (short ferry vs expensive flight), less expensive, and more to do
Grand Cayman - Great beaches, plenty of shore dives / snorkeling, safe. We like to stay out on the east end away from the crowds. Always spend a day at Rum Point
Jackson Hole - Scenery and wildlife, next door to Yellowstone, not far from world class wetern museum in Cody
Lake Louise Alberta - Scenery and wildlife, countless number of hiking opportunities. Entire area from lake Louise to Jasper is great. On the list of areas to revisit one day.
Page Arizona - So much amazing scenery in close proximity to see/do. lake Powell, Horseshoe Bend, Antelope canyon, Monument Valley, Bryce Canyon, north rim Grand Canyon, The Wave, Zion can all be done in day trips from Page. Little town NW of Page called Kanab that is even more centrally located if you wanted to stay in one place and hit all those attractions but it makes Monument Valley a really long day
Closer to home there are some places on the backside of Sanibel we access by boat that are just nice scenery and good fishing where you rarely see another boat. Just have to make sure you are out before the tide drops or you can get stuck in there.
Dang, sorry to hear that. Orient beach was definitely one of the nicest beaches I have ever been on in my life.
More truth than you realize.
whitewater and wilderness camping
Guanacaste Costa Rica
St Maarten-damn shame it probably wont be safe to visit for a few years
didn't really enjoy Guanacaste that much. Going back to Cosa Rica in 2 weeks but this time to Jaco area and will give CR another try
We stay at the Westin Playa Conchal and they are the friendliest people in the world.
Nice! I'm a recovering boater myself.
Have you floated the Grand Canyon, yet?
Hocking Hills in Ohio. Great trails, scenic waterfalls, tall cliffs.
My other favorite place is floating & fishing on my kayak where boats can't reach.
Our cabin in the mountains in blue ridge ga great location can be in North Carolina or tennesse in 20 minutes for pics type in bluesky cabin pieceofheaven
We were in a 3 br condo there. No problem with the people just not that many activities for us without major costs. Did enjoy the $20 massages by the beach though
Are you perhaps waiting for me to finish that story(with a little blue language for emphasis)?
Would there be any net gain in that?
Yes! We have access to a cabin in Murphy and every time we drive up thru Blairsville or Blue Ridge, I'm thinking 'Yeah, this is as far as we need to go. It's good right here ..."
Where we go, is not our favorite spot, necessarily.
We go to Paris Landing a bunch as it is tranquil and a place to just do nothing but to watch the water and relax
We are simple folks.
Our favorite place, was Reno and Lake Tahoe
If we had not had family we would have never moved from Reno, but it was just so darn far.
