Murphy transferring made a lot of sense. Coach keeps him in with an injured throwing shoulder for three more weeks without ever coming out and admitting that coach knows he can't throw but appreciates him taking three for the team, just lets Murphy take the heat as a bad quarterback who can't throw the ball. I wouldn't want to play for that coach either.

If you watched the press conferences it was pretty clear Tyler had a bum shoulder.

There is nothing to this and is ridiculous to lump 3 kids that did everything right with two kids that were suspended multiple times during their career at UF. The three transfers were because they wanted better opportunities to play.

I doubt Roberson was getting any faster but a healthy season and no off the field issues might have helped. That being said if he picks the right team to sign a FA deal with he should be fine. It is better to sign a FA deal then to go in the last 3 round IMO.

Yep, 2013 was a tough year, and none of these guys were Muschamp's recruits…

But having seen the last 5 Gator coaching transitions, early departures and transfers are common in the first few years of the new coach's tenure.

Emmitt Smith says that SOS didn't make him feel welcome at UF and left early, a whole boatload of players left early in Zook's tenure, some with little chance of getting drafted , and a high percentage of Zook's recruits transferred, left early or otherwise moved on in Meyer's first years…

Not sure you can blame it all on "Planet Muschamp." Heck, QBs transfer for playing time ALL THE TIME from all programs, Tyler Murphy got a taste of being the man and wanted to start. Don't blame him one bit. But don't blame Muschamp, unless you want to blame Muschamp for picking the wrong starter.

Maybe not faster, but work on his 40 time. I find it weird that all of the rest of the Gators in the draft signed already, but Roberson is still looking. I know it's early, but he must have something about him that's really working against him. Hopefully he finds something tomorrow.

To add to my comment about the transfers. Riggs thinks he is a corner and hopes he will get that shot at ND. Watkins also thinks of himself as a corner ans would have rather stayed there all year. That being said Muschamp playing Watkins at CB Nickle and safety is what got Jalen in the 4th round. Teams want that kind of versatility. He was the 3rd best CB on the team last year and goes in the 4th ound.

He was really thinking about staying. If he waits a few more days we dont get Tabor. Roberson has a lot of red flags. Suspended multiple times as a Gator. Slow 40 time. He had knee issues this year. He also had that bad neck injury that everyone seems to forget besides NFL personnel. That being said he was the best corner on the team last year when healthy and there certainly were not 30 plus corners in the draft better than him.

The fact that Roberson and Purifoy have not signed with anyone means they must have some major character concerns. You telling me that a Georgia Southern CB that was drafted is better than these guys?

Purifoy and Roberson were the two with the worst discipline issues, ironically.

That certainly would not have been a given. With the injuries, his discipline issues and the talent in the wings, there's no telling.

Why is that so hard to believe? He played for a better team than our guys. lol How sad is it that that is both funny and true?

The first sentence is true, but not necessarily in the long run. Those comparatively high earnings do not usually last long. The average NFL career is 3.5 years. There's no guarantee that these guys will make a 53 man roster, when teams are cutting upwards of 30 players between now and the start of the season. Agree that their options are not over. I hope all of these guys are successful in whatever they do.

A little different when you are on football scholarships, you can get your degree without accumulating big SL's if any at all. Always better to have a fall back plan in case the NFL doesn't work out. If you are a sure 1st rounder or even 2nd rounder then sure, go for it. These agents promising the moon and making these kids believe they have their best interest at heart are the problem.

Have heard whispers they were encouraged to move along, either via the NFL or transfer.

If you've been under scholarship, you don't have that "$100K in SL." I do agree that there are lots of unemployed college graduates with $100K+ in SL debt. Many have a degree that has nothing to do with what they want to (or will) do in life.
Lots of other quality comments on this thread! Again, I think that the underclassmen should have stayed, kept their nose clean and to the grindstone, if they wanted any real chance of being drafted. Best of luck to all those Gators who were drafted or have signed UDFA contracts with NFL Teams... especially Harrison! GO COLTS! ;)

Speaking of juniors with big expectations leaving school early, I saw where James Wilder, Jr also went undrafted.
