The watchdogwire link you posted makes a claim about 100 or more cases, but then if you follow one of their links for the statistic, you end up at craptastic World Net Daily, which states:

Where is the evidence to back up their claims? Alas, WND does not provide. It's more likely Flaherty just pulled the number out of his ass. Seriously gman, do you really think this is all that much different--or different at all--then the random and impulsive, teen violence which has occurred throughout modern history?

Yet another particularly un appealing liberal trait on display in here; white guilt.

Liberals are walking and talking cliches.

His typical m.o. When he's got nothing of substance to add, he makes some silly and trite claim about liberals.

Thanks. Point is, it wasn't NY. Two more reported last night. One in Philly and one in DC. The one in Philly they couldn't get him on the ground with the one punch, so they beat the crap out of him until he hit the deck. The one in DC was a woman riding a bike. The police told the woman she wasn't the first that evening.

In Philly, it was also reported that two seniors were knocked out over the past month. One was walking his dog, the other mowing his lawn. You want to set back race relations? This is a damn good way of doing it.

Random acts of violence are disturbing, no doubt. But the empirical evidence points to juvenile violence decreasing (by 65% or more), not increasing over the past two decades. Saying that it's a "growing problem" is mistaking some high profile incidences that have grabbed the attention of the media and further amplified in the echo chamber with the actual violent crime trends derived from empirical data.

See attachment for both juvenile violent crime arrest trends and juvenile violent victimization trends (data come from the UCR and NCVS...i.e. federal government).

It's angered response to a very anger inducing situation. Of course it's only expressed with words no actual violence. And I highly doubt the physical punishment would be metered. My tip off was the xbox at the end... If it was a 360, then maybe.

Also, I'd guess you wouldn't hear responses rise to such an extreme if the event happened in a vacuum. The there is a constant Chinese water torture type drip eroding away the compassion of many toward those who offer no redeeming qualities toward the social structure. Many of the same people who are carrying out these cowardice acts probably whine about perceived racism or the system all the while being supported by it.

Just my opinion of course. I have loads of compassion for many things, but it's equaled by rage toward obvious scum. Surly I'm not the only one with such feelings, I just don't wear them only my sleeve.
