Shorts without gigantic bulky pockets that nobody uses anyway?

Then take it up a notch and upgrade to the cargo pants. Some people probably think these are stylish to wear as well

So cargo shorts aren't ok but exposing your knee caps is?

Well the knees were showing in the cargo shorts pic, so I'm not sure that's really the distinction.

The cargo shorts look obviously longer to me but you're right, that really isn't the point.

Regardless, only females care about what other people think of their clothes.

I think this is fairly common male posturing but I don't really believe or agree with it. I don't have a stack of fashion magazines hanging around but I like to look sharp and present myself as someone with a modicum of fashion sense.

I don't perceive "not caring" as "more manly" but I understand why some do. At the same time those people surely wouldn't take offense if some article of their clothing were outted as "unfashionable," right?

Those who wear cargo shorts probably wear jorts with a jersey to the games as well. There's a reason why we're the worst dressed fanbase in the south. It's the same reason why the entire SEC pokes fun at us for how sloppy we look at games and in general.

I understand not caring what other people think to an extent, but have some self respect for yourself and your university at least. It's rather embarrassing, and I'd be willing to bet some who post on here defending cargo shorts are probably in this picture somewhere.

"Wear what you like" is fantastic advice and ultimately nothing else matters.

But realize there is a world of trends and changes that exists outside of what you like.

Those regular shorts that regular folks wear look regularly gay... Just give me a pair of board shorts/basketball shorts, a gators basketball jersey, a hat, and sandals... I want to be comfortable, not trying to move my nuts around the whole game due to cramped areas.

Football can't get here soon enough... the off season must have sucked every last drop of testosterone out of this forum.

Can't believe the attempted thread hijack didn't take off like wildfire... you guys are still posting pics of guys in shorts?

What happened to the best daisy duke pics? And where's jag?!

Anyway... to keep it "on topic", here's some appropriate female attire for game day. The thong should be orange. Of course. :D

A bit over the top there with your fashionista stuff. Think I am the one that pointed out that cargo shorts were now considered passe a few pages back, wasnt expecting a firestorm tho. However, you wont see me in any jorts pic, cargo shorts.. guilty, got a pair on right now and am at work.

Btw, "regular folk" dont wear belts with their shorts. That's about as prissy as it gets.

and trends are created by celebrities who wear some ridiculous outfit for a little publicity. It doesn't make that trend fashionable. It just means the people who go with the trends are followers who are trying desperately to fit in.

Take music as an example, I wouldn't listen to top 40 music if you paid me, but its the trending music of that time and people like to go with whats popular so they can try to be cool.
