    http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-politics/wp/2013/07/03/the-white-house-pushed-dirt-on-darrell-issa-book-says/

    from the article:

In the summer of 2010, with Republicans poised to take over the House and Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) in line to lead the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, the White House started urging reporters to write negative stories about the congressman’s past, a new book says.
New York Times reporter Mark Leibovich describes what he says were the anti-Issa efforts in “This Town,” a condemnation of Washington self-obsession and self-promotion, a copy of which was obtained by the Washington Post.

According to Leibovich, former Obama deputy press secretary Bill Burton and suggested the reporter look into Issa’s past.

Seems to just be a book about DC gossip. The stories are that a deputy press secretary reminded a reporter that an insurance company deemed a claim at one of Issa's warehouses suspicious as a possible arson and settled for a fraction of the claim value, no one likes John Kerry, Hillary Clinton can be profane, etc.

I wonder if it also includes some of the other "everybody knows" rumors like David Dreier not getting the Rules Committee chairmanship back because of the widespread rumors on the Hill that he is gay (Barney Frank's comments when asked whether Dreier's bid for the position suffered because he was a moderate that "Yes, in the same sense that I marched in the moderate pride parade last year and went to a moderate bar last night." were hilarious).

only question is whether the articles written about Issa are factual or fabrications.

Or are you objecting to a POTUS asking media to research Issa?

Is this any different from politicians of either party9inclduing POTUS's) making statements in media urging media to investigate members of the other party.

And to ask or suggest to media that media do articles about member of opposing party is asking the media to write 'negative articles'. Since in the world of politics it is unreasonable to assume that a member of one political party would ask media to write complimentary article about member of opposing party.

If issa and GOP is upset about Obama asking media to write about Issa. Maybe Issa and media should be putting negative articles in the media about Obama/Dems.

Oh, that's right---Issa and GOP have been doing that the last 6 years.

Evidently Gatorbill you object to media when it is being used as a tool vs Issa/GOP. But don't believe turnabout is reasonable. Let me know when you aren't making such hypocritical comments/threads

4.....3.....2.....1 countdown to cons teaming up to launch personal attack on me for pointing out the fallacy of OP's post and thread topic

You guys act as if this is one sided. Politics is a dirty business whether you're from Chicago or Texas.

Just ask John McCain, who when I last checked still has not fathered an AA baby in South Carolina

After being held captive and tortured for 6 years in the Hanoi Hilton, I doubt that he cares about the lies that people fabricate.

if anything goes wrong it is blame it on the republicans, when they have the LSM on their side it's much easier to convince the sheeple that is the problem

And that makes the scurrilous attack on McCain by the GWB campaign .....ok?
