we'll only go as far as our Offensive Line will take us. I know its basic, but in our case its really true. Sorry to hang this on you guys, but you are the key to our success. As this mostly is true for all football teams, for us it has to be the emphasis. All other facets of our team are above-average. While up till now our OL has been just average. Yeah, we even looked lost somewhat against KY..KY?? If that can change...we are in for an unsuspected ride. C'mon guys!!

Both OL and DL, actually. Murph can obviously get it done if our OL gives him a chance and if our DL can hold up without Easely, we should actually have a really good season.

how much did Tyler Moore play? Was he ever in as one of the 5 offensive linemen or just when we went Jumbo with 6 or 7?

I think the O-line is better than last year, especially in pass protection. Just gotta stay mostly healthy....

Most teams only go as far as their OL/DL can take them compared to the OL/DL's of their opponents.

there is no doubt. Our OL has a couple of very good players, an injured player toughing it out, and some guys that are better suited for a backup position. We definitely need to improve the recruiting along the OL and at TE. We are recruiting better at the WR and RB positions though which is encouraging. We now need to secure the OL and this team will be a legit NC contender consistently.

    :punk:

Yep. The improvement Saturday night was extremely noticeable as they didn't even allow a sack and gave TM time to throw for the most part, and opened up some good holes for the backs consistently.

Most importantly, it was the first time this year the starting OL played together as a unit for an entire game, and that was hugely important.

Our O Line is healthy with the exception of Chaz Green who's out for the year. Anyone that watched carefully saw us wear UK's DL down over 4 quarters. I believe that Tyler only had 1 sack and Jones and Brown got us substantial yards in the ground game. There are several here that will complain but we have a coach that believes as I do that ground and pound eats the clock and denies our opponent opportunities to score. Unlike SOS who saw no problem in running up the score Muschamp just wants to win without humiliating the other team. I see wisdom in that.

Our O line is good but not perfect. However, if we'd have held onto the ball and eliminated some of the stupid penalties we'd easily have beaten the U.

Absolutely correct! This O-line will make or break this team. If they start road-grading opponents like they did against UK for most of the game, we will be fine. If they start whiffing on pass blocking and Murphy has to run for his life against top notch opponents, we will lose a few games....some of which might get ugly. This team is not built to come from behind! They need to establish the run and play aggressive, smothering defense! Do that and we will be happy with the results!

Luckily for us, it doesn't look like we're going to face a lot of uber-elite DL's on our schedule this year, so we have a chance at a good season still.

Arkie may have the overall best DL our OL faces this year with the exception of the one they face in practice every day. I'll be honest with you though, I wouldn't want to go up against that DL 'Ole Miss has. Those guys really did a number on Bama's OL.

Bama's OL doesn't appear to be up to Bama standards this year, but the Ole Miss DL did look good.

Weren't we complaining about our OL last year about this time....that if they continued to play like they were, LSU, USCe, UGA and FSU would eat us for lunch. Oh...I guess they just play up or down to their competition.
