There is really not much to say anymore, eventually when the bulk of the middle class realizes it's easier to live with with the system instead of fighting it, the whole house of cards will fall and then we will become Greece. Have we had a GDP of at least 3% in the last three years?

The problem is that the news is just not that good. The jobs that disappeared during 2008 have been replaced by lower-paying and frequently part-time jobs. Unemployment will take a long time to come down, especially with a Socialist in the White House. Extended unemployment benefits give people less reason to accept a job that pays less than what they want, or has more responsibilities than what they want. The dems are up in arms about the bipartisan agreement that left out extended unemployment benefits for 2014, because dems feel that they need to steal from our grandchildren to keep today's money flowing.

Waiting for the liberal argument that UE benefits stimulate the economy.

The official unemployment statistic, U3 has not changed. The questionnaire redesign in 1994 was for a change to computer-assisted interviewing and had no effect on who was or was not considered unemployed. None of your links at all support your assertion that "Virtually every president since Reagan has adjusted the definition of "unemployed" to leave more and more people out of the description.". You'll have to try again, and fail again.

I know all this, was being sarcastic. But the Obama faithful usually show up when a positive jobs-blip is reported and if you don't buy the "look what Obama did for the economy" BS they sell they usually post something like "Can't you just be happy it's good news for a change?".

Oh stop it!, although I know you'll stop at nothing. I believe that if this were a Pub Pres you wouldn't make excuses. It's just shameful. I can post our lying President criticizing Bush for job losses and you should hold him to the level of expectation he set when he asked for the job.

I will give you one accolade about the Obama Administration that is in indisputable. The boy is the FOOD STAMP PRESIDENT. Newt Gingrich had that one right.

What job losses? There are 3 million more jobs now than when Obama took office. It's still not great, but let's not live in your fantasy world where facts are irrelevant.

Obama has created zilch for real jobs, nor has he made sound investments that will produce real jobs in the future. I don't listen closely to partisan fools who have yet to acknowledge what a failure their President is. Nobody has pissed more of this country's money away playing "dickaround" with our future than your ass-wipe President.

Obama gets an F-. History will remember him for the incompetent turd he is. His voters, those that stick around here long enough, will be compelled to answer for the asshole- you included.

You want some respect, show some courage and honesty. Your vote is gone, start looking out for your country not your lost ideals.

The number of retirees collecting pensions or social security is increasing rapidly but the number contributing to social security is declining. Those retiring are making more money than new workers coming into the system. Pension and social security programs will increasingly face greater and greater stress. Liberals are trying to expand government. Something's gotta give, and something will give. ("What can't go on won't go on.")

It's funny how you guys like to point out how rapidly the number of retirees is increasing when discussing social security. But when it comes to discussing the labor force participation rate, you tend not to bring it up. Just an observation...

The numbers being more real, or pinocchio ever leaving office?

    That is a serious question.

Here....will save them some time. Directly from their head economic guru herself. The Democratic Liberal mind that so many libbies adore, admire, and adhere to when it comes to economic brilliance.....

Yep, if many dems had their way, our social safety net would become a lifestyle. Wait, it already is.

I know this is "anecdotal" to the lefty libbies on the board but we were at a wedding in CT several weeks ago. One of the members of the bride's party had lost her job due to a corporate bankruptcy and subsequent store closures. She had been immediately offered a job by a competitor at equal or higher comp package. However she said she would rather take some time off, collect some "rocking chair money" (unemployment) and find a job when that ran out.
